Pip joins the team at Deniliquin Veterinary Clinic as an associated vet.
She will work part-time at Deniliquin as well as continuing her role with the Bendigo Equine Hospital.
Her role in Deniliquin brings the number of vets available at the clinic to six, plus casuals, and allows her to work alongside her husband and fellow vet John Anstee.
“John and I have bought a property in Deniliquin, and this is where we plan to settle,” Pip said.
“Both the clinic here and the one in Bendigo are through the same company, so it has made the transition quite easy.
“I will be in Deniliquin on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and also continue working part time in Bendigo.
“In Bendigo I do a lot of work with race horses and performance horses.
“I’ll bring that equine expertise to Deniliquin, and will also do a bit more work with small animals and pets.”
Pip grew up in Albury, and said it was her rural background and her love of animals – particularly horses – that prompted her to study vet science.
“I went to Charles Sturt University in Wagga.
“It is a great course there with a good mixed, rural vet focus.
“Three of us (vets at the Deniliquin clinic) actually graduated from that course.”
Pip has been working as a full time vet for six years, and said there are “so many things” she loves about her job.
“Working with the patients is the highlight, but also working with the owners and helping them to maximise that animal and owner bond,” she said.
Another perk of the job is being able to bring her own pets to work.
When she’s not tending to your four legged friends and other animals, Pip loves to ride horses and is a netballer with the Deniliquin Rams.
The Deniliquin Veterinary Clinic is located at 389 Poictiers St, Deniliquin and is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5.30pm and Saturdays from 9am to noon.
