NEW ALBANY, Ohio (WSYX) — Father’s Day is right around the corner, and the odds are good that your dad would love some grooming supplies. The chances are also very good that his grooming routine has its roots in Central Ohio.
From drug stores to grocery stores to big chains, more retail landscape than ever is being turned over to ‘manscaping.’
New Albany-based Bath & Body Works recently launched an expanded line of men’s grooming products. It includes an exfoliating daily face wash, face lotions, and hydrating crèmes and beard wash.
The company has grown its men’s segment by 50 percent over the past three years.
Vice President of Merchandising Kristie Lewis said, “the men’s line has specifically been one of our fastest growing categories.”
According to Grand View Research, the nearly $40 billion men’s grooming market is set to grow 8% per year through 2030.
That’s very good news for the 1,800 employees at ‘Beauty Park,’ also in New Albany.
Beauty Park is a collaborative enterprise where ten vendors combine to research, develop and manufacture beauty products—and then bring them to market.
Everything from laboratories and mixing facilities to bottles, pumps, packaging, and labels, all in one place.
Susanna Zhu, head of supply chain operations, said the beauty of Beauty Park is speed and flexibility.
“We are all about meeting our customers’ requirements. As we launch products, we want to be able to react to the customers’ demands. So having production happening right here gives us the ability to produce right away.”
A beautiful thing that looks good on all of us.
