The Lions Club of Gympie held the Biggest Morning Tea in conjunction with the Cancer Council on Thursday 8 June at the Senior Citizens Centre in Mellor Street at Gympie.
It went very well with almost 90 people attending.
The Club had set a target of raising $1000 to go to the Cancer Council and thanks to the generous support of the patrons this amount was exceeded easily.
Entertainment was provided by local group U3A Jukebox Jive who sang songs from a number of eras, appealing to the audience who sang along with them.
The Club also presented a donation of $1000 to Little Haven Palliative Care, CEO and Secretary, Sue Manton OAM, who addressed the attendees and gave them an overview of the services that are provided to the local community.
The next Lions Community Morning Tea will be held at the Senior Citizens Centre, Mellor Street, Gympie on Thursday 13 July commencing at 10am.
Tickets are available at the door.
