Hooning offences, West Gladstone
A 29-year-old Calliope man was charged after hooning offences in front of police on Tuesday, June 13 in West Gladstone.
At approximately 10.30am, police were speaking to a man on Park Street in West Gladstone when it is alleged the 29-year-old Calliope man pulled up in the middle of the road, in a Holden Commodore utility, and began a verbal altercation with police.
It is alleged that police directed the 29-year-old Calliope man to move his vehicle, which proceeded in the man swearing at police and conducting a burn out and driving away as police attempted to approach the car.
It is further alleged the 29-year-old Calliope man returned in his vehicle a few minutes later and began recording police on his phone before conducting a second burnout in front of police.
The 29-year-old Calliope man was charged with one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle, one count of wilfully make unnecessary noise or smoke, one count of use mobile phone, one count of unreasonably obstructing drivers or pedestrians and one count of fail to comply with requirement to stop private vehicle.
He is set to appear in the Gladstone Magistrates Court on July 18
Traffic offences, Gladstone
A 32-year-old Kin Kora man was charged following a traffic crash on Tuesday, June 13 in New Auckland.
At approximately 5.50am on Sunday, June 11, it is alleged the 32-year-old Kin Kora man attended a business on French Street in South Gladstone, in a white Hyundai Kona station wagon and put fuel in the vehicle before driving off without paying.
Around 11.25pm on Monday, June 12, police were conducting patrols in an unmarked vehicle along Yarroon Street in Gladstone Central, when they allegedly identified the 32-year-old Kin Kora man in the white Hyundai Kona.
It is alleged the 32-year-old Kin Kora man saw police and drove away, which led to police attempting to intercept the vehicle which failed to stop.
At approximately 7.50am on Tuesday, June 13, it is alleged the 32-year-old Kin Kora man was driving the vehicle along Clarence drive in New Auckand when he has crashed into a tree.
Checks were made that revealed the 32-year-old Kin Kora man was allegedly disqualified from driving.
He was charged with one count of stealing, three counts of driving unlicensed repeat offender, one count of fail to comply with requirement to stop private vehicle, one count of driving without due care and one count of contravene requirement of police officer.
He is set to appear in the Gladstone Magistrates Court on July 4.
Drink Driving, Gladstone Central
A 46-year-old Kirkwood man was charged following a vehicle intercept on Friday, June 9 in Gladstone Central.
At approximately 4.20pm, it is alleged the 46-year-old Kirkwood man was driving a black Mitsubishi Triton dual cab when he ran a red light in front of police, who intercepted the vehicle on Auckland Street.
It is alleged the 46-year-old Kirkwood man refused a breath test and was arrested and transport to the Gladstone Police Station for further testing.
It is further alleged the 46-year-old Kirkwood man became aggressive whilst at the Breath Analysis Section (BAS) and had to be restrained, he then refused to provide a specimen of breath as required.
Police alleged he was unlicensed at the time.
The 46-year-old Kirkwood man was charged with one count of failing to stop on red light, one count of drive unlicensed, one count of drive UIL, one count of fail to provide roadside, one count of obstruct police and one count of fail to provide BAS.
He is set to appear in the Gladstone Magistrates Court on July 4.
Assault occasioning bodily harm, Gladstone Central
A 14-year-old South Gladstone boy was charged following investigations into an assault on Wednesday, June 7 in Gladstone Central.
At approximately 3.15pm, it is alleged the 14-year-old South Gladstone boy approached another boy at an address on Yarroon Street and continually hit the boy on the back of the head.
It is alleged that as the boy tried to leave on his bicycle, the 14-year-old South Gladstone boy pushed him off and began punching him in the back of the head.
It is further alleged he also damaged the boy’s bicycle.
The 14-year-old South Gladstone boy was charged with one count of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count of wilful damage.
He is set to appear in the Gladstone Childrens Court.
