About the role
The Head of School is a key leadership position within the Faculty. The position reports to the Dean and, sitting on the Faculty Executive, has a close working relationship with all members of the Faculty senior leadership group. The position leads this diverse School in achieving the objectives of the University strategic plan, and goals of the Faculty. The position has four broad areas of responsibility: (i) Leadership and Strategy, (ii) Teaching and Learning, (iii) Research; and (iv) People and Performance Management.
This is a senior management role in the Faculty and the position will be responsible for leading a thriving and innovative work environment, promoting excellence in teaching and learning and inter-professional education, fostering strong partnerships and pathways with internal and external stakeholders, especially with industry, government and professional bodies, and driving research engagement and impact (both health discipline and pedagogical). The Head of School will work closely with the Dean, Associate Deans and Faculty Coordinator to develop, operationalise and deliver on sustainability and growth strategies for the Faculty.
About you
We are seeking a vibrant, innovative and collaborative senior academic leader, with a health background, a track record of achievement of results, and personal traits including agility and determination. Experience in developing and executing cohesive interprofessional education would be advantageous. Demonstrated skills in people and performance management is a must, and current clinical practice is desirable.
