Jockey Patrick Scorse has been slapped with a lengthy ban after a positive cocaine test.
It is the second time Scorse has tested positive for the drug, who was said to be genuinely remorseful after the most recent scandal.
Scorse finished his day’s racing at Muswellbrook on April 28, when he was asked to provide a urine sample.

The analysis of that sample detected benzoylecgonine, which is a metabolite of cocaine and is banned under AR136(1).
Scorse, 24, has pleaded guilty and Racing NSW stewards have now ended their investigation into the country rider.
He was hit with a 12-month ban and it has been reported that he will also seek professional assistance.
In 2021 Scorse was also found to have cocaine in his system.
He is the son of John Scorse, a four-time Group 1 winning jockey and former racing presenter on Sky.
It has been reported that when considering their verdict, stewards also considered Scorse’s “genuine remorse”, and the jockey’s “personal circumstances”.
Scorse can return to trackwork in February next year.
His suspension has already started and he is eligible to race again at the start of June, 2024.
It is possible Scorse may not serve the full length of the ban if he completes his professional counselling to a satisfactory level.
It has been an up and down journey for Scorse since becoming a jockey, who also suffered an ankle injury in 2020 after he was thrown from his mount in the barriers in Canberra.
After that incident he also missed a chunk of racing.
Scorse was an equestrian and had dreams of representing Australia before he decided to follow his father’s path and become a jockey.
