On Thursday 8th of June in the early hours of the morning, a bus load of Boorowa Central School students and several teachers were on their way to Darling Harbour Sydney to attend the Stand Tall Sydney 2023 event.
Stand Tall is a charity event organised to help support students from an array of areas, with different backgrounds, to have resilience and practice mental selfcare.
Due to the increase of mental health issues amongst Australian young people, Stand Tall aims to intercept any mental health struggles that the attendees may have and supply them with healthy coping mechanisms.
Boorowa Central Students were met with inspirational speakers such as Nicho Hynes, Micheal Crossland, Anna Cocquerel, Derek Rabelo, Molly Croft, Craig Johnson, Jael Wena and Matt Purcell who discussed different adversities that they indured and how they found the resilience to overcome the struggles that they faced.
The day was said to be a success, with attendance records being broken due to the event selling out with over 5,000 highschool students.
It is no surprise that 100% of teachers would recommend such an inspiring day to other schools, students are provided with unique skills and techniques that inspire students to make educated and wise decisions.
Boorowa Central School attendees were extremely impressed with the information and the way it was presented to them on the day.
