The Perth Nova radio hosts were wined and dined at the PM’s tax-payer funded residence in Canberra overnight as part of an on-air promise Anthony Albanese made in February.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has made “no real attempt” to bring in the Coalition to negotiate the Voice to Parliament or to negotiate a change to the wording, says author and wordsmith Kel Richards.
“I don’t understand what Albanese is doing about this because Albanese is a clever politician … yet he is doing this in the most uncooperative, unnegotiated way,” he told Sky News host Jenna Clarke.
“He’s being really hard-headed – my way or no way.”
Nova hosts Nathan Morris, Natalie Locke, and Shaun McManus, were wined and dined at the PM’s tax-payer funded residence on Tuesday night, fulfilling an on-air promise Mr Albanese made in February.
The Prime Minister and his partner Jodie Haydon posed for a photo with the trio, along with Mr Albanese’s cavoodle Toto.
“At The Lodge for dinner as promised @nathannatshaun,” he wrote in Twitter post.
“So pleased to finally have the @nova937 team over this evening, looks like they may have even passed the Toto test.”
During an on-air interview with the PM on Wednesday morning, the trio discussed the Lodge’s decor, Mr Albanese’s vinyl collection, and getting the tick of approval from his dog Toto.
“It was really lovely of you Albo as well, to be able to like just soak in the vibes of The Lodge because I honestly thought I was going into a drafty old haunted house,” said Morris.

“It was warm and inviting. And then we got to see the touches of your and Jodie’s personality through the home.”
The hosts then chatted about Mr Albanese’s impressive vinyl collection, which ranged from U2 to Radiohead and even pop star Taylor Swift.
“You’re a big Tay Tay fan, aren’t you? You’re a Swiftie all the way through,” asked Locke.
“I think she’s terrific, and I think that she’s empowering of young women,” Mr Albanese replied.
“If people actually listen to Shake It Off, the lyrics are fantastic. I think it’s, I quite enjoy her.”
Referring to the decor of the Lodge, Morris pointed to “a really uncomfortable” 1950’s couch in the sitting room.
“You sit on it and you’re leaning to one side. I know it’s got historical value, but this one’s on the verge,” said Morris.
“It was like a student house with mix-match furniture,” added Locke.
Speaking of Mr Albanese’s partner Jodie, Morris described her “as a real asset to you and the Labor Party and Australia”.
“She’s a genuinely warm, beautiful, outgoing, gorgeous person,” said Locke.
At the end of the night the hosts left a framed photo of themselves on a mantlepiece, but joked the gift would be hard to find amidst the many photos of Toto.
As for whether the hosts got the green light from Toto Mr Albanese said “You got Toto’s approval the way through, and even got a little pat as the night went on… she doesn’t give her affection easily.”
