- Luxury sports car abandoned after Sydney crash
- The driver managed to wedge it on top of a Falcon
- Police are speaking to the driver of the Lamborghini
Shocking footage has captured the moment a Lamborghini rental worth at least $600,000 crashed into a used car yard.
The Lamborgini Huracan 724 coupe spun off Parramatta Road at Concord in Sydney at around 9pm on Friday night.
The vehicle then hit three cars on the street before slamming into the RV Motors lot.
The luxury sports car came to a rest wedged on top of a Ford Falcon, valued at $16,999.
The driver left the scene before police arrived but has since contacted officers.
The Lamborghini currently retails between $789,809 to $825,914 for the 2023 model and $653,000 for earlier makes.
Fire Rescue NSW Superintendent Adam Dewberry said the driver was incredibly fortunate not to have struck power poles or something equally as dangerous.
Supt. Dewberry also said the public was lucky the accident happened when few people were around.
RV Motors owner Christopher Quach’s first reaction was more bemused than angry at a car smashing up his lot.
‘I said, “Half a million dollars doesn’t look good up there”. That was my first reaction, he told 9News.
‘I got here and realised it was a Lamborgini hanging off one of the Ford Falcons in the yard and it’s actually crashed into another two cars as well.’
Nobody was injured in the incident, although two cars were written off.
Witnesses alleged the driver left the scene claiming he didn’t want cops involved and that he would sort things out with the car yard.
The abandoned vehicle is believed to be a rental.
Police issued an updated statement to Daily Mail Australia on Sunday morning, in which they confirmed the driver was in contact with police.
‘Officers attached to Burwood Police Area Command were called to Parramatta Road near Melbourne Street about 9.40pm on Friday (12 May 2023), and found a black Lamborghini had left the roadway and struck three vehicles,’ the statement said.
‘The driver of the sports car had left the scene prior to police arrival.
‘Following inquiries, police spoke to the driver, a 38-year-old man, after he attended Burwood Police Station at 5pm yesterday (Saturday 13 May 2023).’
