A drug dealer has been jailed after he was caught carrying a handgun and up to £10,000 worth of cocaine and heroin. Cairo Williams, from Kings Heath in Birmingham, was spotted by cops riding a bike in the Wolseley area of Tamworth in January.
He tried to get away but was quickly stopped and searched. Staffordshire Police found a black handgun, ammunition, £6,200 worth of crack cocaine and more than 80 wraps of heroin. They also found three mobile phones which he was using to sell the drugs and more than £400 in cash.

After looking through the phone, cops realised that Williams had been selling the drugs as part of a county drug line. He pleaded guilty to the offences and was sentenced at Stafford Crown Court last Thursday (June 8). There, he was sentenced to five years and four months behind bars for the following offences: possession of a firearm, possession of firearm ammunition, possession with intent to supply heroin and crack cocaine, and possession of criminal property.
Detective Sergeant Jon Bradbury from Staffordshire Police, who dealt with the case, said: “I’m happy that we’ve been able to disrupt a major drug network and take a potentially lethal weapon off our streets. We are proactive in our pursuit of serious and organised crime and we will continue to act on intelligence and work alongside local partners to stop those responsible for these crimes in Staffordshire.”
The police said it is continuing to target serious organised crime as part of its Operation Target commitment. A spokesperson for the police said: “We are disrupting and pursuing criminals who plan, organise and commit serious criminal offences across the county, including drug supply, illegal firearms, knife crime, human trafficking and sexual exploitation.”
