PORT ROYAL — Appalachian Mountain Speedweek returned to the Port Royal Speedway this past weekend as Michael Norris became the first multi-time winner in super late model competition during the 2023 racing season.
Norris bested Tyler Emory, Kyle Lee, Rick Eckert, and Jeff Rine during the second night of Appalachian Mountain Speedweek competition. The win was worth $5000 and was Norris’s third career triumph at the Juniata County oval.
In other action, Jeff Halligan rebounded from an accident last weekend to pick up the $5,000 Weikert’s Livestock 410 Sprint Car feature win over Lucas Wolfe, Dylan Cisney, Mike Wagner, and Ryan Smith.
Danny Atherton capitalized on a front-row starting spot to score his first career Dack’s Trucking Limited Late Model feature event over a hard-charging Ryan Zook. Shawn Shoemaker, Devin Hart, and Eric Irvin completed the top five.

Lincoln Speedway: Freddie Rahmer parked his racecar in victory lane at the Lincoln Speedway for the third week in a row on Saturday night. It was Rahmer’s sixth win at the track this year and his eighth win overall, making him the winningest 410 driver in the country. Saturday was the second annual Elijah Hawkins Memorial, which Rahmer won the first iteration of the race last year as well. In other action, Kyle Spence won the non-stop 358 sprint feature, his first in the division, and took home $1,500. Kyle Keen finished second and Tyler Ulrich crossed the line third. Logan Rumsey was fourth and Cody Fletcher completed the top five. Steve Owings took the checkered flag for his first win of the season in the June 3 makeup feature.
Hidden Valley SPEEDWAY: The inaugural Marlin and Jean Luzier Memorial for the Little’s Drive-In Four Cylinders was held Saturday night at the Hidden Valley Speedway and Chris Anderson picked up the $1,200 win event. Gary Little won the Scaife Racing Supplies Semi-Late feature while Jimmy Holden remained undefeated in the small block modifieds race. Also, John Eckenrod won the pure stock main event.
Clinton County Speedway: The Appalachian Mountain Super Late Model Speedweek began it series Friday Night at the Clinton County Speedway, and Jason Covert topped the field of 40 super late models. Other winners included Shane Wolf who won his first career pro stock main event, and Larry Beachel, Jr. who won the 4-cylinders race.
