‘Best Friend’ and ‘Sunflower’ English singer-songwriter, Rex Orange County returns to Australia in 2023.
The bedroom pop, jazz-rock artist will headline concerts in Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth in September.
“This has been a long time coming, I am SO excited to be announcing these shows and playing some of these cities for the first time,” shares Rex Orange County aka Alexander James O’Connor. “See you there! Thank you!”
Last year, O’Connor made headlines when he was charged with six counts of sexual assault of the same woman, which led to him cancelling his scheduled tour dates including shows in Australia.
Those charges were subsequently dropped and the case dismissed, in part due to CCTV footage and a police interview with the complainant’s partner.
The Australian live dates follow Rex’s 2022 multi-city run in North America that saw him performing sold-out shows at iconic venues including The Hollywood Bowl, Forest Hills Stadium, and Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
Rex’s most recent album was 2022’s ‘WHO CARES?’ that charted at #2 in Australia and includes the singles ‘Amazing’, ‘The Shade’, ‘Keep It Up’, ‘Open A Window’ and ‘One In A Million’.
Tickets on sale from 9am (local time) on 16 June.
