A Berry Park man has admitted he spent his weekend constantly refreshing his computer screen questioning if his $1.7 million windfall in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto was real.
The Maitland resident held one of the three division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4371, drawn Saturday 10 June 2023 and pocketed a total prize of $1,717,853.24.
In addition to the $1,692,043.14 division one prize, his marked System 10 entry also scored division three 24 times, division four 90 times and division six 80 times, bolstering the total win to $1,717,853.24.
So far in 2023, there have been 15 division one winning entries in the Hunter and Central Coast region, that have collectively taken home $33.80 million in prize money.
Speaking to an official from The Lott this morning, the winning man recalled how he discovered his newfound fortune.
“How awesome!” he cheered.
“I decided to check my ticket online on the weekend and at first, I thought I’d just won a small prize.
“But then I looked closer, and I saw $1.7 million!
“I spent the first 20 minutes refreshing the page to see if it was real.
“I was in complete disbelief, and I couldn’t stop looking at it.
“I’ve won $5,000 before but this is next level.
“My partner and I have been thinking all morning about what we’ll do with the prize.
“It’s a hard one to wrap our heads around.
“I’ll definitely see my accountant tomorrow and see where we can plant the prize!
“Thank you so much.”
