A seasonal respite from snowy New Zealand winters transformed into a bold leap of faith for Peter Ward’s family.
“Back in the early 1990s Mum and Dad bought into the dream of developer Alan Starkey and his plans for Noosa Springs,” Mr Ward said.
“They had enjoyed coming here in the winter to escape New Zealand, so they thought they’d take a bet on the vision.
“The golf course was definitely a deciding factor for Dad, and it turned out to be a good bet.”

The sprawling estate at 701/61 Noosa Springs Drive, Noosa Heads is the family’s third residence in the Noosa Springs locality.
“Mum and Dad believed in this development as much as Alan Starkey himself,” Mr Ward said.
“And it really worked out for us all.
“This has been a beautiful home in a magnificent location, and we have been very happy here.”
Set upon 2252sqm on a sought-after corner allotment the home is nestled beside the lake and the fourth green of the world class Noosa Springs Golf and Spa Resort.
Fashioned in mid-century overtones, Mr Ward said the property had always felt “safe, private and luxurious.”
“We’ve celebrated some huge family milestones here and absolutely experienced the best of the Noosa Springs lifestyle,” he said.
“If it wasn’t time to downsize there would never be a need to move.”
The four-bedroom, three-bathroom property consists of a main home and guest villa to accommodate extended family or growing children.
The king master suite features an alfresco terrace outlook, Hollywood-style walk-in-robe and dresser plus Mediterranean inspired ensuite with a sunken bath overlooking the pool.
Tom Offermann real estate agent Patrick Sherwood said the signature touch of renowned custom builder Paul Clout gave the home an undeniable “pedigree”.
“It is the heart of class,” Mr Sherwood said.
“The perfect pairing of effortless elegance with chic modernity, the one-of-one given the land size and location beside the lake and fourth fairway of one of Australia’s most prestigious golf course estates.”
