A reckless driver has been caught allegedly speeding at more than 60km/h over the limit in a car “held together with tape and cable ties” in Victoria.
Ballarat Highway Patrol spotted the 25-year-old allegedly speeding on the Western Freeway in Middle Creek, near the Goulds Lane intersection, about 11.45pm Friday.

The driver allegedly swerved between lanes as his ramshackle vehicle was clocked at 146km/h in an 80km/h zone before he was pulled over in Beaufort.
Upon inspection, police discovered the rear windscreen was smashed and the car’s radiator was held together with the engine using duct tape and cable ties.
Senior Sergeant Paul Maslunka slammed the incident, saying it was “completely unacceptable that people think they can just blast through at whatever speed.”
“We’ll be using every means at our disposal this weekend to try and keep the road trauma down,” he said.
The 25-year-old Mount Gambier man had his licence suspended and will face court at a later date.
His car was also impounded at a cost of $1625.
