Merchant Navy filly that debuted over 900m here back in February when back a fair way out of her ground and made up ground without threatening behind Lady Wairua. She has had three jumpouts to get ready for her return so the grounding is there and with the claim, she is in very well.

Stuart Gower trains this gelding, who ran in a 1200m maiden at Balaklava last time and for the most part, I thought he was far from disgraced in defeat behind the very much in form Pompeii Empire. Has placed in 6/7 at the Murray Bridge 1000m, he’s hard fit and has an inside gate to do no work.

5 Magnadal (Bet Now: $13.00) is back in trip and is one of the threats at a likely decent price. First run for the Carrison camp came over 1200m here when five wide the trip and the hard run just told late in the piece behind Fancify. Like him back in trip and with a more economical run in transit, he’s dangerous at odds.

3 Cool The Jets (Bet Now: $6.00) is the best horse in the race IMO and I am leaning his way, banking on him jumping, running and looking the winner for a long way. His last run came at Kangaroo Island during their Carnival back in February when running last, beaten as a $1.18 favourite. Given a good break and his recent trial work has been very good, suggesting he is ready to rock and roll.

4 Sir Illyrian (Bet Now: $6.00) is a Sir Prancealot gelding for Andrew Clarken that resumes. This guy hasn’t raced since his debut back in October here when far from disgraced in defeat behind Press Down, a race which has produced six subsequent winners. Two jumpouts under the belt have been very good and overall, the depth here is on the thin side.

6 Laila’s A Gem (Bet Now: $6.00) is suited at 1000m. This mare resumed over 1200m at Gawler and I thought her run had good merit to it given she was on speed, copping heat, and stuck on really well in defeat behind Bellalique. Short course racing is her go so 1000m suits, lands on speed and will give a sight I am sure.

8 Fortis In Armis (Bet Now: $1.55) on top…do I want to charge into him? No, but I can’t find anything to beat him. He ran over the mile at Balaklava last time and I thought was given a 12/10 by Pannell. He did everything bar getting the horse home and had to settle for a narrow second to Delayed Action. The 2000m is the slight query, but home track advantage and this race has little/no depth.

Game second over this trip two back at Bordertown before going to 1800m at Warracknabeal when on speed and fought on gamely but couldn’t quite get there when second to Midnight Lady. Tricky draw, but should slide forward and has had the decent grounding for this assignment.

7 Stay At Home (Bet Now: $23.00) is one that can pinch a first four spot at a decent price. He ran over the mile here last start where he got a fair way out of his ground and was never a threat but did make up some level of headway. The rise to 2000m is interesting but has a gate to settle much closer and will see the trip out fine unlike some engaged here.

3 Vezere River (Bet Now: $15.00) is the one to beat for me. Sam Burford trains on the track and comes here second up after resuming over 1200m at this track where she got back and found the line really well I thought behind Fancify, running a narrow second. Was big odds there but defied that and ran very well I thought. Natural improvement, up in trip, he’ll take beating.

14 Super Alana (Bet Now: $5.50) has had a couple of runs at 1200m now and I do think getting to 1400m is a big tick for her. Game third at Strathalbyn two back before going there again and did a good job behind Roulette Queen after sitting wide no cover, doing work on speed. Tricky draw, but should get decent cover, hopefully, and be strong at the end.

13 Manhattan Dawn (Bet Now: $17.00) is a knockout hope for Andrew Clarken. She was big odds when debuting over 1350m at Strathalbyn and ran accordingly, sitting off the speed and whacking away well enough without threatening behind Medal Quest. Has a gate to settle closer and do no work, and her jumpout work prior to that was solid enough to suggest she has ability.

She ran two weeks back on her home deck at Murray Bridge when spotting them a big start after being dragged back from the wide gate and I thought she found the line well enough without threatening behind Second To Nun. If she gets a drag into the race and is within range, she is good enough to take this out.

He was running very well in town without winning before going to the Provincials at Balaklava where he looked a good thing and duly saluted, winning impressively and running good late splits for the meeting. Now he has that win on the board, he’s hard to beat against these.

She resumed a fortnight back over 1200m at Murray Bridge where the market said she would run well despite no public trial/jumpout but unfortunately she just did a bit too much work in the run and felt the pinch late behind Second To Nun. Good second up record and the depth here isn’t deep.

John Hyam trained gelding that resumes, having not raced since March 8 at Strathalbyn when back off the speed and found the line well enough behind Run And Tell, beaten just over two lengths. Good fresh horse with a nice trial under the belt and the depth here is very much on the thin side.

Did a good job to break the maiden tag fresh at Bordertown before going to the Parks track where he was four wide no cover for the trip and dropped out after doing all the work, finishing down the track behind Bristler. Off the first up win, that effort is good enough to be dangerous against these.

$SP.00) has found it hard to win in recent times but that said, he hasn’t found a race as weaker than this in ages. Andrew Clarken trained mare that ran in the Saville race from Balaklava where she was on speed and did too much work, finishing down the track. Gate one, good early speed, she’ll jump on the bunny and give a sight.

$SP.00) gets the nod. Claudette Rose trains this mare, who can be hit and miss at times, but her best is clearly good enough to take this out. I would be forgiving of her effort at Strathalbyn last start after doing work on speed, she struggled to pick her feet up in the conditions behind Pivotal Force. Drawn wide but should slide forward and with firmer footing, she appeals big time.

Not the best of racing patterns but has a gate to settle much closer and she does have a good record at 1400m, so she has a bit in her corner to run well again.

He ran over 1400m at Murray Bridge a fortnight back where he was a mile out of his ground, settling near last, and made up nice ground I thought in defeat behind Solar Blast. Like him up in trip and if they overdo it in front, look for him to finish over the top.

He has got a mile out of his ground each time but has found the line with purpose, the latest coming at Morphettville when second to Santelmo Fuego. That was on May 13 so he’s a month between runs but on current form, he has to be seriously respected.

He ran over 1550m on the Parks track at Morphettville last Saturday where he got a fair way back and on a day where up/in was advantaged, he couldn’t quite get there but the run was full of merit behind Son Of Bielski.
