Liverpool’s summer rebuild is underway following the signing of Alexis Mac Allister this week.
It is of course set to be a busy few months for the Reds, with Jürgen Klopp looking to make a number of additions to a squad that struggled throughout the 2022/23 season.
Having secured Mac Allister on a five-year deal, the Liverpool boss has the first piece of his puzzle in place, but there is still plenty of work for him and new sporting director Jörg Schmadtke to undertake.

The good news for the pair is that there is no shortage of names being linked with moves to Anfield. The tricky part could prove to be narrowing down the options and making sure they get the best possible outcome.
One of those being linked with a move to Merseyside is Khéphren Thuram, and recent reports suggest the Reds could be moving closer to a deal. Meanwhile, Liverpool’s hopes of qualifying for the Champions League in 2024 may have just been complicated by West Ham.
Here are the two Liverpool.com stories from today that you shouldn’t miss.
Liverpool reaches $69m transfer ‘agreement’
Liverpool has reportedly reached a ‘verbal agreement’ with Khéphren Thuram as the Reds look to add to the signing of Mac Allister.
According to Football Transfers, ‘advanced talks’ have already taken place and attention has now turned to agreeing a fee with Nice for the 22-year-old.
Thuram is said to be valued at around $69m (£55m/€64m), but there is some room for negotiation. Newcastle United and PSG have also been listed as possible destinations for the midfielder, but neither are said to be in for him as strongly as the Reds.

West Ham adds to Champions League challenge
Liverpool will be aiming to rectify its poor season next year as it looks to earn its seat back at Europe’s top table.
Having missed out on the Premier League’s top four this season, the Reds will be playing in the Europa League in the 2023/24 campaign, and will be keen to make sure they don’t make the same mistake again.
Should they fall short again though, there is a chance they could still qualify for the Champions League, even by finishing fifth thanks to the Champions League rules changing and the competition being expanded.
With West Ham having lifted the Europa Conference League this week though, David Moyes’ side has just complicated things further, with the Hammers’ participation in next season’s Europa League potentially diluting the Premier League’s coefficient.
