Liverpool has already snapped up Alexis Mac Allister to begin the midfield rebuild, but the Argentina star will not be the only player who comes in to help restore Jürgen Klopp’s side to its former glory.
New sporting director Jörg Schmadtke will now take the lead on trying to secure some more targets during a summer that will be pivotal in dictating whether or not Liverpool can properly challenge again next year, having fallen behind last season.
Among the suggested targets are the likes of Manu Koné and Khéphren Thuram, while BILD’s Christian Falk has reported for Caught Offside today that Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard is being discussed by Liverpool.

There are some other names also being linked with moves to Anfield, though. One is a Juventus player who appears could be on the move this summer, and another is a name that has not popped up for a while, but could be interesting.
Here is the Liverpool.com verdict on the transfer gossip to emerge around the Reds today, starting with Federico Chiesa, who the Reds have been linked with on and off for the last couple of years.
Federico Chiesa (Juventus)
While signing another forward is certainly not at the top of the priority list for Liverpool this summer, if the right player was available at the right price, it cannot be completely ruled out.
Italian publication Corriere dello Sport reports that Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Newcastle United have all been alerted to the fact that Chiesa could be available for as little as $48m (£38m/€45m).
Chiesa no longer feels he is the ‘center’ of the project at Juventus, the report claims, which means that he is open to leaving, with the Serie A giants already considering replacements in the form of Nicolò Zaniolo (who has been on loan at Galatasaray) and Wilfried Gnonto (who was just relegated with Leeds United).
Liverpool.com says: Chiesa is an excellent player but has suffered a lot with injuries. For the right price, he could be worth a gamble but it would be a risk that he gets back to his very best having missed so much football.
Arda Güler (Fenerbahçe)
Liverpool and Barcelona have both ‘accelerated’ their efforts to sign Fenerbahçe midfield talent Arda Güler, according to Turkish outlet Aksam, with the 18-year-old playmaker a player with huge potential.
Per FootTheBall, he has been likened to Lionel Messi for his dribbling, Kevin De Bruyne for his pinpoint crossing, and Mesut Özil for his silky dribbling and ability to play a pass.
Arsenal and Newcastle have also been linked with a move for the teenager, who has already played over 50 senior matches including representing Turkey at international level twice.
Liverpool.com says: Güler is, clearly, a very talented player who is performing at a level above his age. Liverpool might well be among the sides taking a look but Fábio Carvalho is proof that minutes are not easy to come by. A switch to somewhere like Borussia Dortmund might be a better next step rather than heading straight to a top club where the competition is more fierce.
