The Toronto Blue Jays(36-29) three game winning streak ended with a 3-2, 10-inning loss to the Minnesota Twins. The Jays loaded the bases in the 9th but failed to score the go ahead run. Michael Tayor, who homered in the 5th won the game with a sac fly in the 10th.
Prior to the game Toronto designated relief pitcher Anthony Bass for assignment after he reposted an Instagram video asking for a boycott of Target stores for the U-S chain’s support of the pride movement. Over a week ago he posted a Tweet denouncing Target and Budweiser for using the pride rainbow on their products.
The Jays have recalled Mitch White to replace him.
First place Tampa Bay made it seven straight wins dropping AL West leading Texas, 8-3. The Rays scored 4 in the 8th. Isaac Paredes had a big night with two home runs and 6 RBIs.
Boston used home runs from Rafael Devers and Kike Hernandez to edge the NY Yankees, 3-2.
Baltimore got by Kansas City, 3-2 as Austin Hays and Anthony Santander homered.
The NY Mets have seven straight losses. They were doubled 14-7 by Pittsburgh.
Philadelphia has won seven in a row. The Phillies got by the LA Dodgers, 5-4.
The Denver Nuggets are a win away from the NBA championship stopping the Miami Heat, 108-95. Denver has a 3-1 lead and gets home and hosts Game 5 on Monday night. Aaron Gordon led the Nuggets with 27 points.
Carl Yuan of China leads the Canadian Open golf championship after two rounds. He’s 5 under par. Canadian Corey Connors is tied for second, eight off the pace after a 69 score. Eight Canadians made the cut.

The Charlottetown Islanders (3-1) host the Saint John Alpines (3-1) in New Brunswick Senior Baseball in a doubleheader at Memorial Field Saturday afternoon at 2.00. Both teams have been affected by rainouts the last two weeks.
