This weekend has many fun events going on, including a big Shriners parade, the moose lottery, the Woofstock music festival, a Wings and Wheels car show and fly-in, and more. There are craft shows, farmer’s markets, and more. Saturday, June 10th
Alton: All-you-can-eat public breakfast at the Alton UMC at 3494 Bennoch Road from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. The menu includes sausage, eggs, pancakes with Maine maple syrup, hash browns, toast, homemade baked beans, donuts, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and juice. $9 for adults and $4 for kids.
Auburn: Touch-A-Truck event will be held at Central Maine Community College at 1250 Turner Street from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Quiet hour will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. There will be a variety of vehicles and equipment for kids to explore. There will also be five food trucks on hand to purchase from, along with activities and fun for all ages. Admission is free.
Auburn: June Craft Fair at the Foss Mansion at 19 Elm Street from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be over 20 crafters featuring Maine-made crafts and creations, including everything from handmade jewelry and pet toys to fairy wands and hand-dyed yarn.
Augusta: The Maine Fish and Wildlife will be holding the moose lottery at Mill Park starting at 2 p.m. The lottery is free to attend, and the reading of the names is expected to last 3 hours. There will also be events from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., including the Moose Maine-iah monster truck, vendors, a kid’s zone, live music, a beer garden, a corn hole tournament, and food trucks.
Bangor: Almost everything you ever wanted to know to start quilting presentation at Bangor Public Library Crofutt Room 145 Harlow Street at 10:30 a.m. This will tell you what you need to know and the supplies you may want to pick up if you are thinking about starting to sew a quilt. Various quilting supplies and finished quilts will be on hand for you to view.
Bangor: A bake sale is being held by Team Mimi’s annual softball tournament. All proceeds from the bake sale will go to Kelly Dow Austin. Kelly is battling stage 3 ovarian cancer. Union Street Recreation Area is at 1463 Union Street. It’s right past the Airport Mall, beside the Job Corps.
Bangor: Family Comedy Event hosted by the Rock Church of Bangor from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., located at 1195 Ohio Street. There will be food trucks and outdoor games before the show starts. Dry Bar featured comedian Fred Klett and his son Gus will be performing clean comedy. Tickets are $10 for adults and free for kids 12 years old and under and can be purchased here.
Bar Harbor: The 2023 Maine Ocean Festival will be held at the Oceanarium 1351 ME-3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This will be a day filled with live music, games, ocean-oriented vendors, speakers, and presenters talking about the issues affecting the Gulf of Maine. Bring the whole family and wear blue for the ocean. Admission is $18 for adults, $15 for seniors and veterans, $12 for kids, and $9 per person for a group of ten or more people. Bath: Centre Street Block Party from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. There will be food trucks, live music, stand-up comedy, kids karaoke, a bouncy house, a live DJ, tarot readings, family-friendly games like tic-tac-toe and corn hole, street performances, chalk drawings, face painting, and more.
Biddeford: La Kermesse and Kora Shriners 40th anniversary parade at 10 a.m. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. The parade route will begin on Union Street, turn onto Alfred Street, then onto Main Street, then onto Jefferson Street, South Street, and Adams Street, ending at City Hall. This will be the biggest parade Biddeford has seen in years, with high school bands, local organizations, and more. If you love a Shriner’s show, this is one you won’t want to miss!
Brewer: Farmers Market in front of the Brewer Auditorium on 318 Wilson Street from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Canton: Craft Fair at Boondocks Farm on 1 Shelakis Drive from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Canton: Autism Awareness Ride with the United Bikers of Maine, Oxford County. The ride will leave the Canton Big Apple on 19 Turner Street with kickstands up at 11 a.m. and ride to Big G’s at 581 Benton Avenue in Winslow for lunch. $10 per person, with all proceeds going to Autism Awareness of Maine.
Caribou: Caribou Public Library located at 30 High Street will be hosting its annual perennial plant sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Cumberland: The Spring Maine Ultimate Yard Sale will be held at the Cumberland Fairgrounds at 197 Blanchard Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Over 200 yard sellers come together for the single biggest event of its kind in Maine. This will be held rain or shine. Admission is $10 for adults, and children 12 years of age and younger are admitted for free. This is a cash-only event.
Exeter: A craft fair will be held at Exeter Town Office at 1221 Stetson Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be crafters and vendors, with breakfast and lunch available for purchase. There is something for everyone at this event.
Gardiner: Community Market will be held at 10 Commonwealth Avenue from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Garland: Town-wide yard sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Greenville: The annual town-wide yard sale will be held this weekend, rain or shine.
Hermon: The All-Star Monster Truck Tour will hold two shows on Saturday at Speedway 95, located at 1070 Odlin Road. For the first show the gates open at 11 a.m. and there will be monster truck rides and a track party from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The show starts at 1 p.m. The second show gates open at 5:30 p.m. with monster truck rides and a track party from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and then the show will start at 7:30 p.m. Cash, credit, and debit are accepted at the gate on the day of the show for admission. Admission is $30 for adults and teens, $15 for kids ages 3 to 12, and free admission for kids ages 2 and under.
Holden: The Holden Congregational Church-UCC located at 9 Rider Bluff Road will be hosting a public picnic supper from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Eat-in or takeout is available. The menu will include ham, potato salad, coleslaw, fruit, a roll, and a cookie for $10.
Houlton: The Houlton Community Market will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Market Square, rain or shine. The Houlton Community Market is an open-air market in Houlton featuring locally grown and produced items, including vegetables, meats, cheese, baked goods, plants, and crafts.
Kittery: The New England Toy and Record Show will be held at the Kittery Lions Club at 117 State Road from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be 45+ tables inside and outside with vintage toys, records, comics, and collectibles. Families and individuals like to dress up as characters from their favorite TV shows, movies, and comics. Bruce Patrick, who played Eddie Munster on the TV sitcom The Munsters, will be there. Admission is free for kids ages 10 and under, regular admission at 10 a.m. is $5; and early bird admission at 9 a.m. is $10.
Limington: Vintage car cruise-in at Snickerdoodles located at 166 Ossipee Trail from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Come and have coffee and check out the cars. There will be a breakfast special, music, door prizes, and a raffle.
Machias: The Annual Porter Memorial Library Plant Sale, Craft Fair, Book Sale, and Yard Sale will be held at 92 Court Street from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will also be kid’s crafts, live music, a raffle table, and food and drinks.
Old Orchard Beach: The 19th annual Corvette Weekend will have a parade of Corvettes and a Corvette display with over 300 Corvettes from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the top of Old Orchard Street. All Corvettes are welcome to join in on the fun, so come and spend the day and show off your pride and joy, then join in a Corvette-only parade around Old Orchard. The cost to attend this event is only a donation of non-perishable food items for the Food Shelf or a personal item for the Veteran’s Hospital; this could be new clothing or personal grooming items, and please don’t forget our female veterans.
Old Town: The 3rd Annual Dewitt Field Wings and Wheels Car Show and Fly-In will be held at Dewitt Field on 100 Airport Road from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. There will be a car show, a swap meet, live music, vendors, warbird airplanes, helicopters, a corn hole tournament, raffles, food, and more. $10 registration fee for entering your car or plane for prizes. All proceeds will benefit the Maine Veterans Projects, Toys for Tots, and SUDS.
Presque Isle: Farmers Market at the Riverside Pavilion on Riverside Drive from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The market will be held rain or shine. There are more than 30 vendors, and SNAP, EBT, credit, and debit cards are accepted at the market in addition to Maine Harvest Bucks.
St. Albans: Peony Farm Open House will be held at Green Garden Farm on 39 Stage Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This is the annual open house at Green Garden Farm, open to the public. You can take a tour of the farm, where the peonies will be in peak bloom around June 17th. Bouquets and potted peony plants will be available for purchase. The open house runs until Saturday, June 24th, and will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
Waterville: The Fairfield Historical Society Bi-Annual Quilt Show will be held this weekend at the Victor Grange 142 Oakland Street from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be 50+ antique and modern quilts.
Waterville: The 2nd annual Woofstock Music Festival will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. at 100 Webb Road. Free admission for this dog day of summer fun event, with all proceeds going to the Humane Society of Waterville area. Schedule of events:
- 5K woof run with prizes awarded to the top male and female racers. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. with a registration fee of $20 in cash only, please. Racing with your pups is encouraged and the race starts at 10:30 a.m.
- Canine carnival dog-friendly event starting at 12:30 p.m. with 6 food trucks, vendors, a bounce house, a dog agility course by donation, field games for the kids and dogs, a 360 photo booth caricaturist, a K9 police demo, and more. Corn hole will start at 4 p.m.
- Woofstock music festival will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. with good beats and good eats, along with beer from Bigelow Brewing Company and cocktails from Mossy’s Mobile Spirits.
Wayne: Farmers Market on Main Street from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Westbrook: There will be a free drive-thru shredding event hosted by Saco & Biddeford Savings Bank at the Westbrook branch at 2 Hannaford Drive, Westbrook, from 8 a.m. to noon or until the truck is full. The event is open to the public, and community members and businesses are encouraged to bring up to two boxes of documents (canceled checks, old bills and invoices, medical records, etc.) for safe and confidential shredding. Shredding will be provided by Shredding on Site® Mobile Shredding. Bank staff will assist with disposing of shredding materials. Non-perishable food items for the Westbrook Food Pantry will also be collected at this event.
Sunday, June 11th
Auburn: The 2023 Annual Karate Tournament from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. put on by Phoenix No Limits Karate of Auburn. The tournament will be held at Central Maine Community College, located at 1250 Turner Street. There will be events for participants of all ages (2 and up), a show by our demo team, raffles, food, t-shirts, etc. This is a fundraiser for Phoenix No Limits Karate. Admission is $10 at the door.
Bangor: Together Place Neighborhood Fair at Coe Park on Court Street. There will be a fun run/walk with registration starting at 9:15 a.m. and the run/walk starting at 10 a.m. There will be a horse and wagon ride, local musicians, a dunk tank, a bounce house, face painting, arts and crafts, backyard games, ice cream, and more. A free book exchange with all decent condition books of any genre is welcome. Bring your books and take a book. There will be a demonstration of heavy combat and rapier combat at 11 a.m.
Portland: The 2nd annual Resurgam Music and Arts Festival will be held at Ocean Gateway Pier and surrounding parks from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. This one-day music festival is free and open to the public with a parade at 11:15 a.m.
