The University of Warwick has been ranked 11th out of 130 institutions in the UK, according to the Complete University Guide.
Warwick has also retained its position as the top-rated university in the West Midlands.
The Guide ranks 20 different subjects at Warwick within the top 10 nationally. Several subjects have risen in the table this year, including Philosophy (5th), Communication and Media Studies (3rd), Geography and Environmental Science (23rd from 43rd last year), Education (13th) and Linguistics (9th).
Earlier this year Warwick also placed 8th in the Guardian University Rankings and within the top 70 universities globally by the QS rankings.
Warwick’s increase in spending on facilities for students, as well as a lower ratio of students to staff have been recognised in the rankings.
Professor Stuart Croft, Vice Chancellor and President of the University of Warwick said: “I’m pleased to see Warwick ranked as one of the best in the UK by the Complete University Guide. This is testament to the ground-breaking research and excellence in teaching our academics demonstrate every day.
“I’m also very proud of the breadth of our subjects ranked in the top 10 nationally. This demonstrates our commitment to equipping our students with skills for the future across both the arts and the sciences. These rankings reinforce that Warwick is an institution leading the way, both in the Midlands and nationally.”
The Complete University Guide league table is based on several measures: entry standards, student satisfaction, research quality, research intensity, graduate prospects, student-staff ratio, spending on academic services, spending on student facilities, and continuation. The continuation metric is a new measure this year, measuring how many students continued their studies after their first year.
