A car driver was injured in a crash with a lorry on the M6 southbound this morning (June 7). Two lanes were closed on the major motorway, between J7 and J6, near Perry Barr, following the collision.
Paramedics rushed to the scene and found a woman, the driver of the car, with non-serious injuries. She received treatment at the scene and was later taken to Heartlands Hospital in Birmingham.
All lanes reopened at around 7.30am after emergency services made the scene safe. Motorists were stuck in one-hour traffic delays after the lanes reopened due to earlier blockage.

National Highways tweeted earlier this morning: “Emergency services are in attendance. There are long delays in the area due to the collision and overrunning roadworks.”
Highways later added: “All lanes on the M6 southbound, between J7 and J6, are now open. There are residual delays of at least 60 minutes between J8 and J6. Delays will now begin to ease.”
