Capricorn Enterprise is pleased to announce we are hosting an Agri-tourism business mentoring program.
The Southern Great Barrier Reef regions in partnership with Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF) are seeking to support the development of new agri-tourism businesses to drive visitation to the region and grow our regional visitor economy. We are offering a business development program to help eligible agribusinesses explore the opportunities of agri-tourism, the potential business benefits of diversifying your income and attaining bottom-line improvements. The program will include workshops, 1:1 business mentoring and an immersive study tour to Tasmania to engage with a best practice agri-tourism region in action.
What Is Agri-tourism?
Agri-tourism is a tourism-related agricultural experience, service or product that connects visitors with people, places or products on a farm. Agri-tourism is an important growth industry for Queensland’s economy, particularly in regional and rural areas over the next decade and is worth an estimated $4.5 billion by 2030.
Who Is Eligible
The program is open to agricultural businesses in the local government areas of Gladstone Regional Council, Bundaberg Regional Council, Rockhampton Regional Council, Livingstone Shire Council, North Burnett Regional Council and Banana Shire Council.
