Geelong Council opened an Expression of Interest process last week, with the management company getting the go-ahead to open the course immediately.
“I congratulate Clublinks for their successful tender and thank everyone involved in making Queens Park Golf Course available to the public once again, in such a short period of time,” Mayor Trent Sullivan said.
“While the course has been accessible to club members throughout the past week, I know that some members of the public have been concerned about just how quickly they would be able to return to this outstanding course.
“Clublinks has a proven track record of golf course management and I think it is an organisation that will ensure the return to normal public access is a relatively seamless process.”
Clublinks will operate the pro-shop including collecting fees, provide tee stewards for competitions, memberships sales, respond to course enquiries, and merchandise sales.
Course maintenance will remain the responsibility of the City’s Parks and Gardens team, as Council asks for patience as it works this week to restore and rebuild all services and systems.
