And while the margin looks good, St Augustine’s College prides itself on the quality of football and application of their plans – and that’s an area coach Kris O’Farrell is keen to see addressed when they take on Holy Spirit College in Townsville on Tuesday.
The match will be exclusively live streamed on KommunityTV, with the Cowboys Challenge kicking off the action from 11am.
“We’re fine, we’re injury-free, but we want to be a more physical in the way we play,” O’Farrell said.
“It took us a long time to get into the game – I don’t think we really did until the second half.
“We play better when we go through the middle so that’s a key focus for us.

“We could’ve had a few better fifth tackle options as well but we’ve got new halves in Jesse Ziegler and Lachlan Magill, who’s playing out of position.”
The unavailability of Kaleb Eaton has forced Magill to move from the second row to halfback, and while it’s a new role he got the job done in round one while maintaining his tough presence in defence.
Hooker Lucas Lane was their best in the win against Mareeba, while front rower Noah Dowdle and Jack Rix were strong in the forwards against a big pack.
St Augustine’s College are atop the Pool B standings based on points differential and need to win to maintain the pace.
Jaffahl Skillington scored two tries in Mackay’s 30-4 win against Holy Spirit College in a Sugar City derby last week, and are keen to improve to 2-0 and at least a shared lead of the Pool B table.
