An independent Warwickshire cafe based within a converted railway carriage has hit the commercial property market. Bobby’s on Stratford-upon-Avon’s Greenway is up for grabs at £150,000.
The property has been listed on the website BusinessesForSale.com which describes Bobby’s as a ‘rare and exciting catering business opportunity. “1953 railway carriage converted to provide internal seating for 27 diners, well-equipped kitchen and toilets,” the listing says.
“Alfresco seating for 72 diners including covered pergola and ‘Drinks Shack’. Carriage owned and included in sale.” The site says net sales in the year to March 31, 2022, amounted to £291,654. It says the gross profit margin was 64% with ‘excellent profits in the region of £90,000 to a full-time working couple.’

The cafe is situated on land owned by the local authority with ‘modest rent’ payable of £3,000 per annum. The site says inspection is ‘strongly recommended’.
Bobby’s describes itself as an ‘independent café in a converted train carriage’. “We’re open daily bringing you artisan coffee & curated menus of delicious produce from our favourite producers & local suppliers,” its website says.
A recent post on the cafe’s Facebook page said plenty was being planned for weekends through the summer. “Our weekends will be full of Events, Tastings & Parties,” it said.
“On those sunshiney weekend days, we’ll keep the bar open later, serving all the way through. This will be weather dependent and you’ll hear about it first over instagram/facebook. We hope to see you over the summer months. It’s our time to shine!”
