Former My Kitchen Rules judge Pete Evans looks a world away from his days as a Seven celeb in an odd new video posted online.
Pete Evans has been confronted over his involvement in a hippie commune project – an earlier version of which saw investors lose “their life savings”.
The brief clip shows Evans, wearing a ‘Food is Medicine’ T-shirt, walking around an outdoor kitchen.
The 50-year-old former Seven celeb is seen sporting a drastic mullet haircut, with the sides of his head shaved:
Evans, who became a household name after hosting My Kitchen Rules for 11 years, raised eyebrows with his controversial health views, but in 2020 emerged as a full-blown coronavirus sceptic. The same year, he was slapped with a $25,000 fine by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) for selling a $15,000 “BioCharger” device he falsely claimed could fight Covid.
Another video posted to the Instagram account of Evans and wife Nicola Robinson’s wellness retreat gives a clearer look at his eye-catching new haircut:
Once one of Australia’s most beloved restaurateurs, Evans quit his television career in 2020, effectively marking his break from the mainstream after steadily increasing his support for conspiracy theories and non-scientific beliefs.
His fall from grace since was swift – the father-of-two was booted off Facebook and Instagram for sharing misinformation about the coronavirus pandemic, and dropped by 15 sponsors and companies in the space of 48 hours in November 2020 after posting a meme featuring a neo-Nazi symbol to his social media.
Evans and his wife bought their $1 million tourist “healing” retreat near Byron Bay in 2021 and hold regular retreats at the property.
Upcoming events at the property include a “fasting retreat,” with the enticing offer to “join Pete for a 5-day juice, water and broth fast” for $2250 per person.
