The sponsors, Ingevity UK, are based in Lower Walton, and are now the proud sponsors of Woolston Rovers under-sevens and Woolston Rovers under-13s rugby clubs.
This includes funding state-of-the-art match recording equipment, as well as a defibrillator for the under-13s team.
The donation was made as part of the company’s ‘IngeviCares’ program, with a commitment to supporting the education, health and wellness in the communities where Ingevity operates.
Clare Connolly, IngeviCares committee member, said: “Our community involvement spans several decades, and our commitment is as strong now as ever before.
“Health, well-being, and education are important parts of our charitable giving that support our mission to purify, protect and enhance the world around us.”
Woolston Rovers team coach, Chris Forster, explained the importance of committing to well-being within the club: “At Woolston, we aim to help young players develop their rugby skills while also learning about teamwork, time management, respect, social responsibilities and developing a work ethic.
“The health and welfare of the people connected with our club is paramount, and we appreciate Ingevity’s support in helping us keep players safe on training and match days.”
Woolston Rovers under-13s team recently participated in the Rhinos’ Challenge held in Skegness, as defending champions and this year they won the Plate Trophy.
