WILMINGTON — Lillian Hall Corbett, 93, of Wilmington passed gently from her earthly life Wednesday, May 31, 2023 following a long, well lived, fruitful life.
She was born December 8, 1929 in Pender County, the daughter of Gaitha D. and Annie Pearsall Hall. In addition to her parents Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Bayard Z. Corbett; son, John Wesley Corbett; and sister, Barbara Rivenbark.
Lillian is survived by her children, Robert B. Corbett, Brenda Corbett, Debra Peacock (Gary), and Greggory Corbett (Randi); grandchildren, Brian Corbett (Kelly), Tim Corbett (Claire), Eric Peacock (Jennifer), Jennifer Peacock (Chad Young), Adam Corbett (Tracy), and Jessica Smith (Ken); great grandchildren, Corbin Peacock, Emma Peacock, Padraig Young, Anna Corbett, Nathan Corbett, John Corbett, and Lincoln Smith; special brother-in-law, Turner Rivenbark; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
All of her life Lillian was truly devoted to her family as she cared for and nurtured each and every one of them. She was an outstanding homemaker creating a home filled with warmth, love and laughter. Lillian loved the Lord, serving many years as a Sunday school teacher. Lillian’s sunny smile, gentle spirit and love of family will long be remembered.
The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home with funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Kenneth Smith conducting the service.
Interment will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.
