Nigella Lawson took in some history during her trip to Australia.
The chef stopped into the Sydney Jewish Museum last week, where she spent some time viewing the exhibits.
The 63-year-old, who is of Jewish heritage, appeared absorbed as she walked from display to display.
Casually dressed in a black ensemble, Nigella took several photographs as she made her way through the museum.
In a 2006 episode of BBC1’s hit ancestry show Who Do You Think You Are? the ‘domestic goddess’ discovered some of the long lost secrets of her family history.
She learned that a member of her illustrious Jewish family, founders of the famous Lyons corner house empire, came to England because he was on the run from jail.
There was another surprise for Lawson, who long believed that her family had ‘exotic’ Iberian-Sephardic roots.
Archivists confirm instead that her ancestors were from Ashkenazi stock, Jews who came mainly from Germany and eastern Europe.
Her 18th-century ancestors, she is told, were responsible for maintaining the historic Ashkenazi Great Synagogue in Amsterdam.

The beloved British chef took time to meet with her loyal fans after last Sunday’s installment at Sydney’s State Theatre.
The Nigella Bites star looked absolutely delighted to be greeting her public, signing some of her twelve bestselling cookbooks.
