Ensemble films are a huge draw for Hollywood, and there have been many that have only grown in popularity over time, such as INCEPTION, AMERICAN HUSTLE, OCEAN’S ELEVEN and more. Luckily, 2023 will see several new additions to the already long list of great films with intriguing ensemble casts.
From the latest in Wes Anderson’s repertoire with ASTEROID CITY to the continuation of huge, big-budget franchises like MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE, there are plenty of big ensemble casts in amazing movies coming out in 2023 – all of which fans can see at their local AMC Theatre as soon as they open.
Asteroid City
Starting off strong with Wes Anderson, ASTEROID CITY is the latest film from the Academy Award® winner. The new movie takes place in the 1950s and is a comedy that follows a group of parents who all have children that happen to love space. With this in mind, they travel to a desert location for a space convention – but find themselves quarantined after they are exposed to something extraterrestrial.
ASTEROID CITY is one of Anderson’s biggest films to date in terms of the cast, and features a staggering amount of stars that fans will recognize. Some of the biggest names participating in this film are Tom Hanks, Scarlett Johnsson, Jeffrey Wright, Jason Schwartzman, Tilda Swinton, Adrien Brody, Bryan Cranston, Maya Hawke, Steve Carell, Matt Dillon, Edward Norton, Jeff Goldblum, Margot Robbie and many more.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One
If fans are ready for an action-packed spy movie, this is the one to go to. MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – DEAD RECKONING PART ONE is the first of two parts to the latest entry in the MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE franchise. Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the film comes after MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – FALLOUT and continues the story of Ethan Hunt as he and his team search for a weapon that could threaten all of humanity if their enemies happen to get their hands on it.
As is the case with most of the entries in this franchise, the film is stacked to the brim with stars, including the lead, Tom Cruise, as well as supporting roles from Hayley Atwell, Esai Morales, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, Henry Czerny and more.

Movie fans have been hearing about this movie for several years now, and it’s finally almost here. OPPENHEIMER is the latest movie from filmmaker Christopher Nolan, and tells the legendary story of J. Robert Oppenheimer and how he became “the father of the atomic bomb” when the nuclear weapon was being created.
The movie stars Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer, but also features an impressively star-filled cast that includes Robert Downey Jr., Rami Malek, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Florence Pugh, Benny Safdie, Josh Hartnett, Michael Angarano, Kenneth Branagh, Alden Ehrenreich, Jack Quaid, Josh Peck, Alex Wolff, David Krumholtz, Dane DeHaan, and Jason Clarke, among many other talented actors.

Barbie
Step into the world of the legendary toy with BARBIE. Directed by Greta Gerwig, the movie follows the titular character as she seeks more in life and ends up traveling to the human world with her boyfriend, Ken. The film itself features many, many stars, with several portraying different versions of Barbie and Ken.
Margot Robbie stars as the film’s main Barbie, with Ryan Gosling as her Ken.
