Elizabeth May “Liz” Albert: 1940 – 2023
Elizabeth M. “Liz ” Albert, 83, of Casper, Wyoming passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at home, surrounded by family. She was born in Mercer County, Pennsylvania on March 5, 1940.
She will always be remembered for her faith, family, love, and hard work.
Liz is preceded in death by parents, Ralph and Emma B. (Saxon) Snyder; husband, John Albert; three brothers, Thomas; Russel; Rex; and sister, Jean Snyder.
She is survived by four daughters, Dla (Steve) Shrove; Carla (Ken) Bushong; Angelia Hall; Pamela (Bill) Hansen; six grandchildren, Denny; Brent; Dustin; Brooke; Timothy; and Gabriel; as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and longtime companion, Gerald “Gerry” Rose.
A private celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
Glenn Elliot Anderson: 1939 – 2023
Glenn Elliot Anderson passed away May 28th, 2023 at Meadow Wind Assisted Living surrounded by his family.
He was born June 8th, 1939 in Casper, Wyoming. He was the youngest of 4 children to Rupert and Hattie Anderson. Glenn attended High School in Casper, Wyoming and graduated from Natrona County High School in 1957. He worked at the Potato Chip Factory and Community TV after High School.
Not too long after he graduated High School Glenn joined the Air Force in Great Falls, Montana. He served 4 years of active duty from 1958-1962, and continued his service with the Air National guard for 23 years.
Glenn completed an Electrical Apprenticeship and worked as an Electrician for 30 years including 10 years for the state of Wyoming as traffic signal repair man. He met the love of his life, Mary Chaput, and married her at Saint Anthony’s church on November 9th, 1973. They were married for 50 years and remained proud members of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church throughout their marriage.
The fun began when they welcomed their two children Tommy and Theresa into their lives in 1978 and 1980. Glenn loved his Ham Radio, camping, fishing, traveling and the casino. He was the “Rock” for his family and will be remembered for it always.
Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, Rupert and Hattie; siblings, Mary Lou Larson, Ralph Anderson, and Alice Ruth Whitaker.
He is survived by his children, Tommy Anderson (Amber), Theresa Albrecht (Josh); and his grandchildren, Kaden and Thomas Albrecht.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 5th at Newcomer Funeral Home with Chaplain Rev. Phillip Vaske.
Arrangements are under the direction of Newcomer Casper.
Steven Hollis Bakker: 1965 – 2023
Steve was born and raised in Casper, Wyoming. He passed away in his home on Saturday, May 27.
He was an incredibly great uncle to his nephews and had a big heart.
He is survived by his nieces, Amanda Becker, Raelene Malson, Naya Turner, and nephew Colt Unger.
Steve’s wish was to not have a service but to be spread in California where he felt was home.
Merna J. Boatman: 1934 – 2023
Merna Boatman, age 88 of Lemmon passed away on Wednesday evening, May 24, 2023 at Five Counties Nursing Home in Lemmon.
Merna J. Boatman was born on December 23, 1934 in Midwest, Wyoming to Elmer Adrian and Mildred (McNatt) Jepson. Her mother died when Merna was five months old. Her father became both father and mother to Merna and her two older sisters until he married Wilma Dickinson Jepson. Wilma was a kind and loving mother to Merna, who had never known her birth mother.
Merna attended schools in Midwest and Casper, Wyoming graduating in 1952 from Natrona County High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Skip Boatman, on January 5, 1952 in Gering, Nebraska. They made their home in Casper and together, they enjoyed the wildlife on their land near Dubois. Prior to Skip’s illness, they hiked many miles in the backcountry of Yellowstone National Park, always watching for bears or bear tracks of keen interest. They camped and fished many Wyoming and Montana rivers, lakes and streams.
Upon retirement, they spent the fall and winter months in Yuma, Arizona making new and lasting friendships with other winter visitors. After Skip’s death, she continued to divide her time between her homes in Wyoming and Arizona. In the summer of 2019, Merna moved to an apartment in Lemmon and since the summer of 2021, she has resided at Five Counties Nursing Home in Lemmon.
Merna worked for Rocky Mountain Oil and Gas Association, the Continental Oil Company, and retired after 24 years with the State of Wyoming.
She was past president of the Wyoming Public Employees Association, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and American Business Women’s Association.
Merna enjoyed spending time with family and friends in Casper and Yuma. She enjoyed reading and keeping up with the judicial system and controversial trials and doing Genealogy.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Jim Uhrig, Lemmon, South Dakota; nine grandchildren: Michelle, Bob, Jenny, Brandy, Mandi, Misty, Hank, and Clay; eleven great grandchildren: Celena, Neko, Damond, Kameron, Asher, Emily, Andrea, Kaysen, Stunner, Immanuel, and Escobar; one great great grandson, Travis Joe; a sister-in-law, Marla Jepson; nieces, Cindy Pettit and Kim Smith; nephews and Honorary Bearers, Elmer Taylor, Rory Jepson, Todd Jepson, Kal Jepson, Brent Jepson, Kent Jepson, Chris Jepson, and Dale Jepson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Skip of 49 years; two sons, Gary Boatman and Mike Boatman; grandsons, Jimbo Uhrig and Skip Boatman; two sisters, Margaret Claytor and Marianne Derr; and two brothers, Maurice and Merle Jepson.
The Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Bustard and Jacoby Funeral Home, 600 CY Ave, Casper, WY 82601 with Kathy Morsett, officiating.
Interment will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 12, 2023 at the Highland Cemetery in Casper.
James Lee Crawford Sr.: 1947 – 2023
Jim passed away surrounded by his family in Pahrump Nevada. He was born to parents Warren D and Alice J Crawford in Billings Montana.
Jim married Marlene Kainu on September 18, 1967 in Meeker Colorado. They were blessed with two children, daughter Tracy and son James Jr.
Jim served in the Army in Kitzingen, Germany.
After his military service he worked in the oil fields and coal mines from West Virginia to Wyoming. He spent several years working at Cordero Mining Co. in Gillette Wyoming, and at Newmont Gold mine in Elko Nevada in the safety department. When he left Newmont, he didn’t leave mining behind. He opened the family business Safety First Training and Consulting Services, Inc. in Elko teaching both mine safety in occupational safety.
Jim spent his free time hunting, fishing, ATVing, and bowling. Because of his love of music and dancing, he began calling square dances with fellow callers in Gillette Wyoming, and then became the club caller for the Sagebrush Spinners in Elko Nevada.
Jim and Marlene retired to travel south with their co-pilots, Jasper and Rascal, to enjoy the “no shovel required” weather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren Crawford and Alice Trevino; brothers, Jerry Crawford and John Trevino; grandson Taylor Layne Tornow; and grandparents Adolph and Bee Roat.
Jim is survived by his wife Marlene; children Tracy Thompson (Wells Nevada) and James Crawford Jr. (Red Lodge Montana); sisters Jane Trevino and family (Cibolo Texas) and Kathy Trevino and family (Tulsa Oklahoma); granddaughter Sara Marker and great-granddaughter Allison Marker (Gillette Wyoming); nephews Michael, Cory, and Justin Crawford and families; niece Dawnula Koukol, and extended Trevino family in Texas. He is also survived by Zane Coleman, who always brought a smile to Jim’s face!
A remembrance will be held on June 17 2023, 10:00 a.m., at the Elks Lodge: 114 Broadway Ave N., Red Lodge, Montana

Janet Kay Fields: 1936 – 2023
Janet Kay Field, 86, of Casper Wyoming passed away in Loveland, Colorado on April, 29, 2023, after a brief illness. Her loving husband, Floyd, along with grandchildren Jessica Claycomb, Carlie Field and husband Sam Percy were by her side.
Janet was born August 4th, 1936 in Hawk Springs, Wyoming to homesteaders Earl and Ruth Arnold. Raised on a homestead Janet knew the value of a hard day’s work at a young age. One story Janet loved to share was how she demonstrated her bravery by showing her sister’s cow at the fair in Denver, all by herself as a young girl. She also enjoyed helping their hired hand (Uncle John as she called him) herd and care for Turkeys. Janet and Floyd later joined her grandchildren Shane and Michele Herron, on a farm west of Casper for 26 years.
Janet married the love of her life, Floyd Field on August 2,1977 in Casper, Wyoming. Floyd and Janet were married for 46 years. They enjoyed each other immensely, and did almost everything together, from socializing to dancing to farming.
Janet owned and operated The Homestead Motel in Lingle Wyoming until 1963. In 1968 Janet moved to Casper Wyoming and worked for the Natrona County School District. She retired in 1991 after 23 years of service in many capacities and positions.
After retirement Janet enjoyed volunteering for community organizations, including time delivering Meals on Wheels with Floyd, and serving as a Pink Lady at Wyoming Medical Center. Janet was busy almost every day with activities at the Senior Center and church. She enjoyed playing in the bell choir, as well as playing the organ and piano. She also, along with Floyd, received the President’s Award in 2010 for their service to Wyoming Association of Rural Water Systems.
Janet had served as president of the Doll Club, having collected hundreds of dolls. She was proud to do a “Doll Tour” for anyone who asked. Janet spent her days decorating, reading, gardening, watering plants, solving jigsaw puzzles, and working out sudoku numbers. She had great memories of her trip to Oman and her cruise to the Panama Canal. She loved going to her class reunions in Hawk Springs every year.
Janet was quite the social butterfly, always seeing a familiar face in every crowd. She could find a connection with everyone she talked to. Janet never met a stranger, and she will be dearly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Paul (Martha) Arnold, Ted (Tressa) Arnold and sister Wilma (Blaine) Ronne and Wilma’s infant twin brother Wilber; brothers-in-law Don Turner and Jim Ellis.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years Floyd Field of Wyoming; son David Ruff of Montana; her daughter Linda Montoya (Ronnie) of Wyoming; her daughters through marriage, Chryl Field of Colorado and Sandy Field of Wyoming and son Bruce Field of Colorado.
Also surviving are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters Elnora Turner of Arizona and Myrna Ellis of Wyoming, along with numerous nieces, nephews and their children.
Cremation has taken place and services are planned for 1:00 p.m. on July 1, 2023 at the First Christian Church, 520 CY Ave. in Casper, Wyoming.
Maria C. Lupton: 1936 – 2023
Maria C. Maeso Lupton, 86, of Casper, Wyoming passed away on May 29, 2023 at Casper Hospice after a short illness.
Maria was born in Sevilla, Spain to Antonio and Julia Maeso on December 03, 1936. After the death of her mother, when she was only 3, she was raised along with her 2 sisters, Antonia and Dolores by her father, aunt, uncle and grandmother.
In 1960, after a whirlwind courtship, she married David Lupton, an airman in the Air Force stationed at a radar site near Constantina, Spain. She was a devoted wife for 62 years. During their time in Spain, she welcomed daughter Julia and son David. After they were transferred back to the United States, she proudly became a United State citizen and in San Francisco, California gave birth to Jacqueline.
Maria was a wonderful mother to Julia Townsend (Jet), David Lupton (Royce) and Jacqueline Dent (Ted).
While she was a perfect, loving wife and mother, she idolized her grandchildren, Cassandra Guenther (Scott), Sara Sawyer (Tom) Derek Townsend (Katherine) Kaylin Dent (Seth), Marissa Dent (Sean) and Lillian Dent (Daniel). She was thrilled when she became a great-grandmother to Carmen Townsend, Hollie Bertrand, Jonah Bertrand, Charlotte Dent, Atlas Sawyer and Jayden Dent, and her beloved dog, Winston.
Maria and David loved to travel the world, making lifelong friends along the way. For many years they wintered in Texas and Yuma, Arizona, only missing this year because of poor health.
Maria was a kind, caring and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. Maria was a source of inspiration to us all and she will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
Maria was preceded in death by her mother; father; aunt; uncle; sister; grandmother; and grandson Tyler Townsend.
The family wishes to express their thanks for the many kindnesses, prayers and sympathies extended during this time, and a special thank you to the staff of K-Home Hospice in Casper for their loving care of Maria and their support of the family during the longest goodbye.
In lieu of flowers donations to St. Jude Hospital would be appreciated. Maria held a very special place in her heart.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s church, Friday June 2, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. with a reception following the service. Interment service will be at Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
Taylor Ashton Mize: 1996 – 2023
Born August 19, 1996 in Alexandria, Louisiana. Passed away May 3, 2023 in Casper Wyoming, at the age of 26.
He started school in Oklahoma, then finished elementary school, junior high, and most of high school in Gillette, Wyoming. Finally receiving his high school diploma in Casper, Wyoming.
Ashton had several jobs that he enjoyed including the oilfield, delivering roofing materials, a mechanic, & a truck driver with his class A CDL. However the one he loved the most was the one he volunteered for, the Volunteer Fire Department. He planned on turning that into a lifelong career.
Ashton was known for being a charismatic jokester with a great sense of humor who always wanted to make sure everyone around him was happy. He loved camping, fishing, acting and many different forms of art, he also enjoyed arm wrestling. Two of his favorite places to go camping and fishing were Mystic lake, Montana and Sand Creek in North East Wyoming.
He is survived by his son, Skylar Mize; his parents, Nathan Ackerman and Crystal Mize;and his 2 biological brothers and adoptive brother and sister, as well as a great-grandmother, grandmothers and several extended family members.
He was preceded in death by a cousin, his favorite grandpa, an uncle as well as other grand and great-grandparents.
Ashton loved life and never let anything stop him from living it to the fullest. His passing was such a surprise! And naturally we are all sad but rather than focusing on that, we ask you to join us in celebrating the life he lived. Please come share stories of how he impacted your lives and put smiles on your faces. If you have something purple, please wear it! Purple was. and I dare say still is, his favorite color. It would make him happy to see people wearing purple to say goodbye or until we meet again and honor the truly unique individual that was and always will be Ashton.
Great-grandson, grandson, son, nephew, uncle, cousin, father and friend. He will be greatly missed by many!
The celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 3 in the Newcomer Funeral Home Chapel in Casper Wyoming, with a visitation and gathering time from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., followed by the service at 3:00 p.m.

William John “Bill” Truempler, Jr.: 1936 – 2023
William John “Bill” Truempler, Jr., passed away on May 24, 2023 in Casper, Wyoming with family members around him. Bill was born January 25, 1936 to William Sr. and Winifred (Jones) Truempler in Deer River, Minnesota. He married Barbara D. Stinson on June 4th, 1957. They had three children.
Bill served 5 years in the Air Force as an Air Traffic Control Specialist. He spent one year in Bermuda. Upon his discharge, he joined civil service and spent 31 ½ years as a controller until retiring. He worked in Indianapolis, Indiana, Rockford, Illinois, Dickinson, North Dakota, Missoula, Montana, Rawlins, Wyoming, and Hibbing, Minnesota, where he retired. Bill and Barbara retired to Riverton, Wyoming and later to Casper, Wyoming.
Bill received two awards as a controller. He had a plane off course and low on fuel. He talked him down to landing on the highway west of Dickinson, North Dakota. Saving the plane, pilot and the pilot’s young daughter. The second award was for professionalism on the job.
Bill loved attending his grandsons’ baseball games, fishing, camping, & hunting as well as sitting in his lawn swing in the summer.
Bill is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Cristol Lovato of Casper, Wyoming; son, Kenneth (Stacy) Truempler of Litchfield Park, Arizona; grandchildren, Austin (Connie) Lovato; Courtland (Vanessa) Lovato both of Casper, Wyoming; and Derek (Kass) Hoskin; Thomas (Ashley)Wyatt; and Ashlyn Truempler all of Phoenix, Arizona; 7 great-grandchildren, Kolter Lovato; Lauren Wenn; Bridger Lovato all of Casper; Soren Hopkin; Logan and Corbet Wyatt of Phoenix, Arizona; Miles Petrol of Casper; sisters, Dorothy Gorman of Yale, Oklahoma; Lois Shaw of Remer, Minnesota; brothers, Henry “Hank” Truempler of Boise, Idaho; Ralph (Evelyn) Truempler; and Jerry (Lynn) Truempler both of Riverton, Wyoming, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and an uncle.
Bill was preceded in death by daughter, Carrie Ann Truempler; granddaughter, Amber Wyatt of Phoenix, Arizona; his parents; sisters, Peggy Cheney, Betty Hanson and Carol Mason;
