Darren Bent Backs Wilfried Gnonto to Leave Leeds After Relegation
Following their relegation to the Championship, Darren Bent has supported Arsenal transfer target, Wilfried Gnonto, to leave the Leeds United team this summer. Not many of the Leeds United players can hold their heads up after falling down to England’s second tier during the last day of the Premier League season. However, Gnonto was one of the very few bright sparks, and now, Bent hopes for him to exit the team.

Arsenal has already expressed their interest in the 19-year-old, and it has now become easier for them to sign the all-action winger. The only problem is that the Italy international needs to choose a club that will provide him with regular starts, rather than sitting on someone’s bench for extended periods and stagnating his progression.
Nonetheless, with the Yorkshire club dropping down in the most embarrassing fashion, Bent couldn’t understand why Gnonto didn’t start more often because he was “causing damage” when he played.
“I have gone for Wilfried Gnonto (to leave),” said Bent. “He is only 19. I don’t know why Leeds weren’t playing him all the time because he, at the start of the season, was doing damage. I think he has already been linked with some of the top clubs in Europe.”

Gnonto Should Leave Leeds United
It’s no surprise that Leeds fans expect many of their players, including Gnonto, to leave. As an Italy international, he needs to play top-tier football to make strides in Roberto Mancini’s team ahead of Euro 2024 next summer. Hence, it will be fascinating to see how much the Whites can secure for Gnonto’s talents since he is one of the two or three players, alongside Jack Harrison and Tyler Adams, who would fetch a decent transfer fee.
