It was a coming together of friends and colleagues and remembering some times of years gone by when the Queensland Ambulance Transport Brigade past members met for their annual reunion at Bargara.
Held from Saturday 20 May to Thursday 25 May with their base, the BIG4 Breeze Holiday Park at Bargara, members definitely made the most of the good weather, enjoying a range of organised activities and also the chance to explore the region.
Event organiser Kent Larsen said up under 1992, the ambulance was a community organisation with members known as the Queensland Ambulance Transport Brigade.
“This get-together each year happens at different places around Queensland with Charters Towers in 2022 and Yeppoon in 2021 to allow visitors to experience different areas,” he said.
“This year we had 55 people attend and it is just a wonderful opportunity to have a great time together, catch up with our lives now and remember our previous work.
“It is wonderful to see people coming from so many different areas with myself from Dalby, and other locations including Cairns, Mossman, Toowoomba, Brisbane, Gympie, Bundaberg and we also had visiting members from New South Wales as well.”
Bundaberg Lions Club also welcomed the opportunity to put on a fabulous breakfast for visitors on Monday as well as morning tea and lunch on the Thursday.
“We are very appreciative to the Bundaberg Lions Club members for taking the time to put on such a great spread for guests and the BIG4 Breeze Holiday Park has also bent over backwards to accommodate us all, while the Bundaberg Tourism Visit Centre provided us with welcome packs so we knew where to visit.”
