KATE Middleton and her husband Prince William are no strangers to royal residences, and they own three gorgeous properties.
But while the couple now live happily in their Windsor abode, Adelaide Cottage, their first home certainly has lifelong memories of when their adventure was just beginning.

And for Kate, 41, and Prince William, 40, it’s rural North Wales that holds a very special place in their hearts – the Isle of Anglesey in particular.
That’s because the Prince and Princess of Wales – who currently share another London home, Apartment 1A at Kensington Palace, as well as their country retreat, Anmer Hall – have moved into a property on the Bodorgan Estate, before they tied the knot in 2011.
The couple, who are now the proud parents of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, lived in a four-bedroom rented farmhouse leading up to the wedding and shortly after.
Kate and William are said to have paid around £750 a month for Lord and Lady Meyrick’s lovely cottage and lived there for two years between 2011 and 2013.
While not much is known about the interior of the property, it has been reported to have four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room and a kitchen, while the dining area is said to have featured a traditional wood-burning fireplace.
And they certainly made the most of their time there, taking advantage of the private beach access and views of the surrounding Newborough Forest.
Kate and William also reportedly enjoyed the view of the beach, as “the water could be seen from the first-floor bedrooms that overlook the rooftops of the outbuildings.”
These allegedly served as sleeping quarters for security guards as they surrounded the main house – the largest on the property.
At the time William was working as a search and rescue pilot with the RAF whilst Catherine was able to blend in with the locals in the small town and surrounding villages including Bodorgan, Newborough and Malltraeth Arol.
The plain white stone house also marked another significant moment in the couple’s relationship as it was the place where they first brought Prince George home.
However, after welcoming their firstborn, they only stayed there for a few weeks before moving permanently to Kensington Palace.
So it’s only natural that William has previously described the house and Anglesey as a whole as “a very special place” for both of them.
However, Kate has previously spoken about some of the tougher times she’s experienced living within the four walls of the off-the-grid property – particularly as a new mom.
During a public visit to a children’s center in Cardiff, Wales in 2020, Kate recalled feeling “isolated” and struggling with no one around.
Kate explained: “I spoke to some mums, I had just given birth to George and William was still working in search and rescue, so we came here when George was a very young baby, in the middle of Anglesey.
“It was so isolated, so cut off, I didn’t have my family around me, he worked night shifts, so if only I had a center like that at a certain time.”
