AC Milan offer contract until 2028 for Tottenham target Mike Maignan
In April, Italian outlet Calciomercato.com mentioned Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Mike Maignan of AC Milan. And with good reason.
Spurs have to replace Hugo Lloris as soon as they can. Not only did the 36-year-old suffer two long-term injuries this season, but he was also pretty shaky in important moments for us.
It is clear we need a new goalie. Fraser Forster, 35, is old himself and isn’t really of the mould you need for a No. 1 goalkeeper playing for a ‘big six’ club.
There can hardly be a better solution to this problem than Mike Maignan – a player at the peak of his powers. The 27-year-old is a brilliant shot-stopper who is safe with the ball in his hands.
Time to look for other goalkeepers
He isn’t shabby with his feet as well. But it seems that the Lilywhites will have to look elsewhere if they need a new long-term No. 1
Following the club’s UEFA Champions League qualification this season, the club are now in the process of offering their star goalkeeper a new deal. This is according to Gazzetta.it (Subscription Required), who say that the deal would last until the summer of 2028.
That’s that then. If and when this is made official, Spurs would know Maignan wouldn’t be an option. AC Milan would obviously tighten their grip over the France international’s future with the new deal.

This shouldn’t stop us in our search for a new goalkeeper. David Raya of Brentford is up for sale and has been linked with Spurs, while Jordan Pickford is also an option, who would undoubtedly be tired of fighting relegation with Everton.
