Exciting news! Bendigo and Heathcote have reached the finals in the 2023 TAC Victorian Top Tourism Town Awards for the third year in a row.
Bendigo has been shortlisted in the ‘top regional town’ category and Heathcote has been shortlisted in the ‘small regional town’ category, so now it is time to get voting.
Bendigo scooped gold in the Top Tourism Town Award and Heathcote won bronze in the Top Small Tourism Town at last year’s Victorian Awards.
Bendigo went on to compete at national level and win silver award in the same category at the 2022 Australian Top Tourism Town Awards.
City of Greater Bendigo Manager Tourism and Major Events Terry Karamaloudis said it was fantastic news for the Greater Bendigo region to be finalists in these prestigious awards.
“We are very excited that Bendigo and Heathcote have reached the finals for the third year in a row and be recognised as must-see visitor destinations that deliver amazing and memorable experiences,” Mr Karamaloudis said.
“We are hoping we can repeat our success as the public vote is now open until Thursday June 22.
“The final say is based on public voting, user reviews, suggested itineraries so it means so much for Bendigo and Heathcote to be acknowledged in this way.
“We have an incredibly enthusiastic tourism sector, including those in attractions, accommodation and hospitality who are very welcoming and offer unique experiences for people of all ages and interests.
“To be named the top regional or small regional town, you, your family, and friends are encouraged to vote. It’s easy to do, visit click ‘vote now’, select Bendigo and Heathcote, and you can pop your details in to go into the draw to win a prize*.
