Police are investigating claims two men were lying on a road when they were struck by a car and killed.
Sky News host Paul Murray says drivers need to “slow down” after four people were killed in a car crash in Bochara, Victoria on Saturday morning.
“As beautiful as cars may be and as great stories as they might be, they can of course result in the end of very innocent lives,” Mr Murray said.
“So I’ll say this, as somebody who has hooned around plenty of his life, for God’s sake slow down, take care of each other, because you can drive the best way in the world but if somebody else is doing something stupid you can end up in a world of trouble.”
Emergency services were called to Condie Crescent in North Nowra, about two hours south of Sydney, on Wednesday at 7pm after two males were found critically injured.
Passersby provided first aid before New South Wales Ambulance paramedics provided first aid to the man aged 36 and 41. Both men died at the scene.
Police have been told by witnesses the pair may have been “lying on the road” before they were struck by a ute, according to a NSW Police statement.
The 27-year-old driver was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
The Crash Investigation Unit detectives are on their way to North Nowra to investigate what happened.
A crime scene was established.
