Ferrovial has been awarded at the PRNEWS Digital Awards 2023 for its Instagram activity ‘The people who make the world move’, which involves bringing infrastructure closer to the public through people.
These awards recognize the most innovative and influential communicators and digital campaigns. Ferrovial’s campaign has won in the Social Media Strategy category.
About ‘The people who make the world move’ on Instagram
By focusing on the people behind infrastructure, Ferrovial has used Instagram stories -short videos that play one after another and disappear within 24 hours – to highlight colleagues from all over the world to explain different projects in situ.
This campaign has allowed Instagram users to learn first-hand on a monthly basis what the Ditecpesa laboratory is like, how the asphalt is manufactured to build roads, or how the Australian highway is being built in Toowoomba, in addition to experiencing the inauguration of the Northern Line Extension in London live, among many other projects that have been shared from the perspective of the different people who make up these teams at the company.
The series has featured more than 60 employees in over 12 countries sharing infrastructure stories in their own words. This social media action is known as a ‘takeover’ and involves someone outside the digital communication team recounting their experience at the company during a specific period of time in the first person on social media.
