Roxy Rocker led throughout last night to win the 2023 Devonport Country Oaks final at Hobart over 461m.
Trained by Gary Fahey, Roxy Rocker was always rated a good chance to claim the $5,270 to-the-winner Devonport Oaks final, with punters sending her our a +150 second favourite on greyhound betting apps, just behind race favourite Manila Puno (+145) from box one.
Established by the North West Greyhound Racing Club (Devonport) in 2003, the Oaks has been claimed by some of the state’s best female sprinters including Dilston Diamond, Emerald Lee, Jouster and Sassy Galaxy.
The daughter of El Grand Senor and Just Browsing gave nothing else a chance in the final, pinging the lids and burning off Manila Puno for pace in the home straight.
Race favourite Manila Puno finished five lengths from the winner in 25.81, while Miss Butterfly was a further 0.5 lengths away in third at bolter’s odds of +8000.

Roxy Rocker has now had 16 starts for six wins and five placings, earning $29,430 for owner Carol Martin.
The black bitch is from the Tasmanian-bred June 2021 litter out of 22-time winner Just Browsing.
Five of the litter of four dogs and three bitches have are winners on the track.
