Walyalup (Fremantle) midfielder Jaeger O’Meara has been offered a one-match suspension for rough conduct during the third quarter of their upset win over Narrm (Melbourne) at the MCG on Saturday.
O’Meara, 29, caught young Demon Charlie Spargo in what was deemed a dangerous tackle, with the incident graded as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.
The Dockers will now have to decide if they will accept the charge or take it to the Tribunal, with O’Meara to miss the clash with Richmond in round 13 if they accept.
The incident sparked plenty of push and shove, with young West Australian Jacob van Rooyen going straight in to remonstrate with O’Meara.
O’Meara arrived at the Dockers in last year’s trade period from Hawthorn where he played 99 games, having started his career at Gold Coast where he played 44 games.
He has played every game for the Dockers this season, averaging 21 disposals five tackles and five clearances since making his club debut in round one.
It is a blow for the in-form Dockers, who have the bye but will be sweating on the fitness of in-form ruckman Sean Darcy, who injured his hamstring in the victory over Narrm.
Walyalup have a relatively healthy squad, with Michael Walters (calf), Heath Chapman (hamstring) and Matt Taberner (back) the only other players unavailable.
