Stamford KO Shield holders Burghley Park made a strong start to the defence of their crown with an emphatic opening round win on Monday night.
They defeated Stamford by 128 runs at Uffington Road with Patrick Harrington leading their victory charge.
Harrington hit 10 fours and eight sixes in his 109 which came off just 39 balls as Burghley made 216-7 from their 20 overs.
Stamford could only muster 88 in reply with opener Alex Birch top-scoring with 48. Alex Ashwin and Ahsan Azhar both took three wickets for Burghley.
Ufford Park were six-wicket winners over Castor as Ansar Hussain took three wickets to help dismiss the visitors for 143.

Tom Cooper then cracked an unbeaten 58 as Ufford secured their place in the next round with more than three overs to spare.
Ketton Sports gained revenge for last week’s defeat against LGR in the Stamford Charity Cup with a 12-run success at Pit Lane.
They made 147-6 after batting first and then bowled out their visitors for 135.

Mark Saunders struck 50 in their reply as Burghley were bowled out for 131.

The hosts were dismissed for 123 as Corey Young top-scored with 31 while opener Stanley Watson struck 25.

Vincent Newson top-scored with 61 not out while Jason Bloomfield was unbeaten on 42 at the close with Salman Khan adding 34 in Ufford’s 201-3.
Despite Peter Taylor taking 3-35 in Ufford’s reply, United Sports secured the win with an unbeaten 84 from Ravishankar Sasidharan.
Market Overton went down to a four-wicket defeat against Stamford 2nds in their Grantham & Melton Association Division Two tussle on Sunday.
Callum Hull (36), Tom Norwood (36) and Ryan Sharp (22no) helped Marko make 150-5 after batting first.
Sam Wilkinson then top-scored in Stamford’s successful run chase with 49 while James Townsin made 33 and Mo Choudrey was unbeaten on 30 at the close. Alex Laybourne and Amelie Hull both took two wickets for Marko.
