The Gold Coast SUNS has confirmed its VFL squad to take on Footscray at TIO Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
It will be the first time VFL points are up for grabs in Darwin, with up to four SUNS with Territory connections set to take the field in the curtain raiser for the AFL match.
In his first year as a SUN, Lloyd Johnston will have the opportunity to play in front of family and friends in SUNS colours at the ground he grew up playing on.
He’s joined in the team by fellow NT-born players Jed Anderson and Sandy Brock.
Jy Farrar, who has brothers who live in Darwin and play in the NTFL competition, has also been listed on the interchange, although could be held out of the match as the AFL substitute.
He is one of four AFL emergencies named in the side who could be the substitute, alongside Brandon Ellis, James Tsitas and Sam Day.
Connor Blakely has recovered from a calf injury and will take his place in the side.
The match at TIO Stadium is scheduled for 3:30pm AEST and will be livestreamed on the AFL website.
