Busselton Water has launched a new campaign in order to strive towards becoming cleaner and greener.
The campaign involves encouraging customers to sign up for its new online e-billing services, rather than receiving paper bills.
Busselton Water has almost 14,500 customers, which means about 43,500 bills issued each year, and the company is seeking to cut the number of paper invoices sent out by promoting e-billing.
Busselton Water Managing Director Chris Elliott said the corporation hoped the campaign appealed to as many customers as possible so the company could make an environmental change.
“When you consider that it takes 10 litres of water to produce just one A4 sheet of paper, you can see how reducing paper usage is a no-brainer when it comes to saving water and trees,” Mr Elliott said.
“Sending accounts online also has the positive impact of cutting carbon emissions as well as the usage of fossil fuels required to deliver your bills via snail mail.”
Mr Elliott said in addition to the many environmental impacts, e-billing had also delivered significant benefits to Busselton Water customers.
“E-billing is a modern, convenient and fast way to receive and pay your water accounts online. It’s also incredibly simple to use,” he said.
“Customers just need to jump on to the Busselton Water website, select ‘Pay my bill’, choose the electronic invoice option and follow the prompts.
“As an added bonus, we’re offering all its customers a one-off $5 rebate when they sign up to our e-billing service. That’s a cup of coffee on us!”
