New South Wales author and Cyclist Steven Herrick is coming to the South West to talk about travelling the world on his bicycle.
Herrick has spent the last 12 years travelling to Europe every three months and cycling the continent with his wife.
The event “Baguettes and Bicycles” is a talk highlighting the tips and tricks of travelling, including the best routes to take, what to pack, how to find the best accommodation and also the best restaurants along the way.
While the event has a theme of cycling, the talk isn’t just for people who want to cycle, it’s for everyone who has an interest in travel.
“It‘s not only exclusively for those who want to ride a bicycle, it’s also those who want to do slow travel, or for those who are interested in going to a particular country,” Mr Herrick said.
“I talk a lot on France, Germany, Norway, Greece and I also talk a bit about Japan and South Korea, where we’ve cycled.”
Mr Herrick has written 27 children’s books and also 11 e-books where he talks about his adventures while seeing the world from his bike.
“I wanted to branch out into doing something else so I thought I’d marry the two things I love, which is riding a bike and writing so I decided to take my bike to France and ride and then write about it,” he said.
Steven hopes to share his love of travelling, cycling and also his passion for writing with WA in June.
Bgauettes and Bicycles will be held at the Busselton Library at 6pm, on June 9.
