Tottenham Hotspur tipped to sign PSG loanee Keylor Navas
Tottenham Hotspur ‘could jump at the chance’ to acquire the services of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) shot-stopper Keylor Navas, who is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest, according to Foot Mercato.
Spurs have been tipped to get a hold of the Costa Rica international’s signature, who is set to leave the Parisians next summer. The Premier League is a destination that the veteran goalkeeper is keen on.
While the 36-year-old has been impressive at the Tricky Trees in the current campaign, it seems unlikely that they will sign him. The former Real Madrid star’s salary and the possible arrival of Dean Henderson make it difficult for the West Bridgford-based club.
Navas joined PSG in the summer of 2019. Initially, the Costa Rican was the number one at the Parc des Princes side. However, the veteran goalkeeper has fallen down the pecking order in recent years.
The Ligue 1 outfit signed Gianluigi Donnarumma on a free transfer in the summer of 2021. In the current campaign, the Italy international has been the first choice in Christophe Galtier’s team.
Navas made his way to Forest in January and has done well since. The 36-year-old has pulled off some exceptional saves and has helped the Tricky Trees avoid relegation from the Premier League.
As things stand, Hugo Lloris and Fraser Forster are the only two established shot-stoppers in Tottenham’s ranks. However, both of them are way past their physical prime. The French national has been inconsistent in between the sticks for Spurs for some time now.
Therefore, we evidently need to bolster our goalkeeping ranks in the coming months. But it remains to be seen whether Navas is the one the North London side will pursue.

Other teams in the English top flight, like Chelsea, Brentford and Leicester City, are also looking for a new number one. Therefore, will the Costa Rican continue his stint in England? Only time will tell.
