Irish recruit Oisin Mullin is set to make his AFL debut as the Cats welcome back another two notable inclusions to face GWS Giants on Saturday.
One of the best defenders in the Gaelic Athletic Association in recent years and a two-time winner of the GAA Young Footballer of the Year award, Mullin has been named at half-back for Geelong after impressing at VFL level in his introduction to Australian Rules football.
Sam De Koning and Ollie Henry are both set to return from injury to bolster the Cats’ stocks as they prepare to host the Giants in Sir Doug Nicholls Round.
It will be the first opportunity Henry has had to play alongside older brother Jack Henry in an official match since joining Geelong.
Max Holmes (injured), Ollie Dempsey, Mitch Knevitt (both omitted) and Sam Simpson (rested) are Cats’ outs.
The Cats’ substitute will be named one hour prior to first bounce on Saturday.
Geelong takes on GWS Giants at GMHBA Stadium on Wadawurrung Country this Saturday. First bounce is at 4.35pm. Fans are encouraged to be in their seats by 3.45pm for a special Sir Doug Nicholls Round performance from ARIA award-winning artist Budjerah, presented by Larrakia Bilirra.
