Ryan Christie tossed five strong innings to catapult the Five Tool Rays to a 7-5 topping of the Mets. Shane Cowan had three hits and Joe Schoenfeld sparked the defense at third base.
Mason Schettino had a two-run single to lift the Full Swing Padres to a 7-1 victory over the Cage Reds. Nico Iannacco and Dom Poggi led the offense with a pair of safeties apiece as the Padres clinched first place. Colin Brennan threw a three-hitter with six Ks.
Vincent Betancourt and James Matarazzo teamed for nine RBI and Andrew Cupelli went 3 for 3 with a pair of doubles to vault the Athelite PD Mets over the Chik Fil-A Braves, 19-8.
Ryan Althoff went five innings for the victory as the Mets edged the Padres, 4-3. Cupelli earned the save. Defensively, Stefan Pascale and Betancourt made key plays to secure the win.
Poggi and Anthony DePrima teamed for the win as the Padres bested the Reds, 4-2. Mike Mirto knocked in a pair of runs.
Brennan tossed a no-hitter, striking out nine as the Padres edged the Reds, 1-0.

Middle School
Armand Molleur (two RBI) threw three innings of one-hit ball for the win and AJ Ayala fanned seven over two as the IS 72 Bulldogs defeated Blessed Sacrament 11-1. Ferris Othman and Nick Konczynski had two hits apiece.
In game two, IS 72 won, 5-3. Chris Mirasola struck out seven for the win and Othman and Connor Panell paced the hitting attack, splitting four hits. Arion Draga notched the save with two scoreless innings in relief.
Track & field
The Staten Island CYO Track & Field Championship was held last weekend at Monsignor Farrell High School and involved 12 teams.
The overall champion was the combined team from St. Clare, which also won the boys and girls divisions. Notre Dame Academy was second in the girls’ division and St. Patrick was third. The four teams that won the girls’ divisions were Notre Dame Academy (1-2 and 3-4 grades); St. Clare (3-4 grades and 7-8 grades).
In the boys’ division, St. Charles was second and St. Patrick was third followed closely by Sacred Heart and St. Joseph-St. Thomas St. John Neumann.
The 8th grader individual girl winners were Hope Maddix of Sacred Heart (100 meters), Kate Morrison of St. Patrick (200); Olivia Anzurez of St. Patrick’s (400), Gianna LaFace of St. Charles (800) and Giuliana Collegio of St. Clare (1600). The winning 7/8 grade 4 x 100 and 800 Sprint Medley Relay teams were from St. Patrick’s. The field events in the 8th grade were won by Olivia Andurez (long jump), Angelina Cariddi of IS 75 (shot put), and Mia Sciametta of St. Joseph Hill (turbo javelin).
In the boys’ division, the individual winners were Christopher Perez of St. Josep-St. Thomas St. John Neumann (100 meters), Adrian Gladstone of IS 75 (200), Ricky Feramisco, Jr. of St. Charles (400), Michael Gonzalez of St. Charles (800) and Edwin Alleva of St. Clare (1600). The winning 7/8 4 x 100 relay was from St. Patrick and the 800 SMR relay was from St. Charles. The field events in the 8th grade were won by Michael Gonzalez (long jump), Luigi Signorastri of St. Charles (shot put) and Sean Hunt of St. Charles (turbo javelin).
The 60th Blessed Sacrament Titan League meet will be at St. Joseph by-the-Sea on May 26.

Ryan Picaro and Owen Bertuccio each netted a pair of goals and Vincent Pieters stopped 33 shots in net as Militia Blue defeated Militia Black 8-6. Joe Tronolone scored three times for Blue.
Ben Portman registered four goals as Militia Maroon downed Militia Green 9-8. Preston Russell (two) and Avery Lee (one) scored for Green.
