Murray Bridge is where SA metro racing heads to this Saturday. The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

1 Getable (Bet Now: $3.10), I think, is a good thing against these. Maher/Eustace rarely get it wrong when they come to SA and they bring this More Than Ready colt to Murray Bridge. He had looked plain in several jumpouts but the latest jumpout saw him with Blinkers and he looked a different horse, leading throughout and was dominant under not much riding. Pannell would have had the choice of several runners here but goes with this guy, and for good reason.
Danger
12 Pure Bliss (Bet Now: $8.50) is a Star Turn filly for the Clarken/O’Shea camp. She has only had the one jumpout to get ready for the debut, but it was a lovely piece of work. It came last week at Morphettville and she moved very well between runners under no riding to run a narrow second. The stable usually are quite good with their first starters and she strikes a race with not much depth overall.
Long Shot
3 Kalasec (Bet Now: $9.50) is knocking on the door to win a race and I think he gets a great chance here. Led and folded two back behind Heuristic before going here when ridden with a sit and it worked because he found the line strongly when a narrow second to Wanaloan. I think with a similar patient steer, he’ll be effective late once again and is hard to beat.

7 Wally West (Bet Now: $2.05) is the likely winner but he isn’t a win bet proposition for me given he has let me down in both starts this time in. Not much went his way fresh here before going to Gawler last Wednesday where he was given every possible chance and couldn’t get past Seven Secrets. To me, he laps up the milk to an extent, but this race is on the thin side, third up, hard fit…D-Day.
Danger
12 Fancify (Bet Now: $6.50) is an interesting runner. Michael Hickmott trains this filly, who is on debut. Her latest trial came here and albeit she beat one runner home, Eaton didn’t sneeze on her at any stage and seemingly had plenty in hand. Might want a bit further than 1200m, but has home track advantage and will be strong late. Definite yard and market watch.
Long Shot
9 Miss Steiglitz (Bet Now: $46.00) resumes for Mark Webb and is dangerous at a likely decent price. She hasn’t raced in over 12 months since her debut at Cranbourne in April last year when a solid fourth behind Funzelle. Her jumpout work hasn’t been too bad and interesting the stable brings her over for this, so I’d watch the market and see what it does.

4 Dixie Whistler (Bet Now: $3.50) is one of a few engaged that will appreciate this trip. She is on the seven day back up after racing at Morphettville last Saturday where she was one paced, as usual, when asked for the effort, and the race shape wasn’t to her liking so want to be forgiving of the run. Back up to a more preferred trip, good record on the track, she’ll do me.
Danger
1 Canford (Bet Now: $5.50) should appreciate a rise to 2500m. He ran last Saturday at Morphettville over 2000m and in a race shape totally against him, I thought he found the line well enough in defeat behind impressive winner and in form galloper Silent Surrente. Like him back up in trip and the depth here, as a whole, is very much on the thin side. He’s hard to beat.
Long Shot
6 Wolf Prince (Bet Now: $9.00) is better suited at 2500m than 2000m. Far from disgraced two back in the Port Adelaide Cup over 2500m before going to 2000m three weeks back and was far from disgraced in defeat behind the very much in form Silent Surrente, who bolted up last Saturday to frank the form. Back up in trip, home track advantage, he’s a must include in exotics.
Race 4. (13:47) Chapman Heavy Mechanical Handicap (68) 1800m

2 Eaglelou (Bet Now: $4.20) should take beating here. He’s been up a fair while for the Magro/Bush camp but is seemingly getting better as the prep goes on. He ran at Morphettville three weeks ago and was very good from the back I thought, closing off nicely to run third to all the way winner Silent Surrente. That was his first look at 2000m and now with that run under the belt, it should hold him in good stead for this.
Danger
3 Santelmo Fuego (Bet Now: $3.70) is racing in a purple patch for Grant Young and is one of the leading contenders. He ran a narrow second over 2000m here two back before going to 1800m at Morphettville two weeks ago where he got a lovely run in transit behind the speed before being angled into clear air, built up the revs and he was far too good for them. Good record at Murray Bridge and off last start, is hard to beat.
Long Shot
5 Motell (Bet Now: $4.80) is a horse I want to give a look to. He was backed as if he was a moral last Wednesday at Gawler but unfortunately for his fans, he was caught wide no cover for the trip and just couldn’t get involved behind Whiskey N Women. Good record at Murray Bridge and has proven himself at Saturday metro grade previously, so don’t dismiss him.

6 Storyteller (Bet Now: $6.00) is a Michael Hickmott trained three year old that has done little wrong in a two start career. He let down with purpose to win on debut during the Oakbank Carnival before going to Morphettville two weeks ago and was good late from the back when a narrow second to Sghirripa. He’s racing like he will eat up 1200m and on the home deck, he’ll take holding out.
Danger
3 Dunmaghlas (Bet Now: $5.00) is a smart three year old that resumes. He had a four run prep during the Summer to start his career, winning two of the four and placing on the other two occasions. Given a good hitout in a recent jumpout at Morphettville and first up at 1200m tells me he’s ready to go. Hopefully the marekt agrees.
Long Shot
Fitter and up to 1200m are two big ticks for the Team Jolly trained 7 Cold Case (Bet Now: $16.00), who resumed two weeks back behind Sghirripa. The market said he’d need the run and that’s how it panned out, but I thought he was far from disgraced in defeat, beaten 3.4L. Like him up in trip, he’s got upside to come and his best is certainly good enough to take this out.

Hard to get away from 7 Outback Action (Bet Now: $2.10) for Peter Moody, who had a strong hand in nominations for this race but goes with this guy as his sole rep. He is several weeks between runs since leading throughout and spanking his rivals on Mornington Cup Day. Looks like he will get on speed comfortably and he is a pretty sharp animal when right, as seen last time. He’s the one.
Danger
11 Aiguilette (Bet Now: $15.00) is hard to beat with a repeat effort of two weeks ago, which was at Morphettville and he should have won IMO. He got badly held up in the straight and eventually got clear air, just missing out on picking up Manhattan Times. He hasn’t won in a little while but that last start was very encouraging and a repeat effort should see him take beating.
Long Shot
9 Extra Mile (Bet Now: $16.00) is one to include in wider multiples. He ran last behind Manhattan Times two weeks back at Morphettville, settling just off the speed and couldn’t get involved in the race, finishing down the track and failing to beat a runner home. Not sure I could back him to win but for exotics, he is one I can include because he can be dangerous when on song.

4 Clamarc (Bet Now: $4.50) is a key chance for Team Jolly. Market wanted him with confidence when resuming at the midweeks at Balaklava and under a lovely ride from Toeroek, he was strong late and gapped them in an impressive return. Can only see upside/improvement from him and he is a previous winner at 1200m in dominant fashion. Happy to be in his corner.
Danger
7 Way To Go Paula (Bet Now: $4.60) looks ready to fire after a mini freshen up. She ran four weeks ago at Morphettville where she took a fair while to wind into her work but was pretty good to the line late when third to Dash It. She does seem to race best with fresh legs and her best form is clearly good enough to take this out. Hard to beat.
Long Shot
13 Lianne (Bet Now: $18.00) doesn’t have the best of racing patterns but has home track advantage and will be strong at the end. She ran over 1400m at Balaklava last time where she got back to near last in the run and was never really a threat but liked the way she found the line behind Run And Tell. If she gets a drag into the race and is within range 400m out, she can certainly take this out.
Race 8. (16:17) Affordable Tree Solutions Handicap (68) 1000m

5 The Magistrate (Bet Now: $9.50) on top for me. He’s third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness. He resumed on the Parks track and just looked in need of the run behind Prairie Fire before going to Morphettville where he was on speed and fought extremely hard but couldn’t withstand the finale of the in form Celsius Star. The Magistrate has good upside to come and should be stronger at the end compared to last time.
Danger
Hard to knock the way 1 Celsius Star (Bet Now: $5.50) is going at the moment. He is looking to make it four wins on the bounce, the latest win being three weeks ago at Morphettville where he was outside the speed and trucked before Tomlinson clicked him up and he eventually wore down The Magistrate. He has a good racing pattern and will be around the mark if he holds his form.
Long Shot
7 Classy Kenny (Bet Now: $7.00) is flying for the Hickmott/Riggs camp and is one of the key chances. He ran over 1100m two weeks back at Morphettville and charged to the line late, albeit was assisted by a fast tempo, when a closing second to Queman. Fast run 1000m looks right up his alley and provided he’s not too far back, he’ll be strong at the end.

Having a throw at the stumps in the shape of 5 Footlights (Bet Now: $31.00), who is having his first run for Aaron Bain after formerly being with Busuttin/Young. His best form is over further than this, but he does have a bit of quality about him when right and his latest trial, coming here, albeit he ran last, I thought he ran through the line quite nicely. Watch the market and see if it tells you if this is a prep run or if he’s ready.
Danger
14 Siyata (Bet Now: $27.00) is unknown at 1400m in Australia but is racing like it will be fine for her. She ran three weeks ago at Morphettville over 1200m and was solid late without threatening behind impressive winner and stablemate Toast The Deel. 1/1 at Murray Bridge and with a drag into the race, I think she has the change up speed to launch at them late.
Long Shot
15 Headphones (Bet Now: $81.00) is one I can entertain for wider multiples. Jordan Frew trains this mare and has home track advantage, where she runs well, and also has a pretty solid second up record. She resumed at this track/distance and just looked in need of the run when down the track behind Platinum Wolf, a horse with good talent. Reckon with a more patient steer, she can be more effective at the end.
