MALIBU, Calif. — Making his first signings as the head coach of the Pepperdine women’s basketball team, Tim Hays announced the addition of five women’s basketball recruits: Myra Gordon, Holly Griffiths, Megan Harkey and Maggie Vick.
This first group of signees includes three Power-5 transfers (Gordon, Harkey and Vick), plus one true freshman (Griffiths). All four will be immediately eligible for Pepperdine in the 2023-24 season.
Gordon, Griffiths, Harkey and Vick will join true freshman Jorynn Ross as newcomers to the 2023-24 roster. Ross, a true freshman out of Milwaukee, Wisc., signed her national letter of intent with the Waves on Nov. 10, 2022.

Coming to Malibu with two years of playing experience at Alabama, Myra Gordon will have two years of eligibility for Pepperdine, starting in the 2023-24 season.
In all three seasons as a member of the Crimson Tide, Gordon was part of a program that went to the postseason in three-consecutive seasons — including NCAA Tournament berths in 2020-21 and 2022-23. All told, Gordon saw action in 58 games in her first two seasons with three starts.
Gordon has career-highs of eight points (twice), eight rebounds (at Tennessee, Dec. 30, 2021), three assists (vs. Maryland in the NCAA Tournament on March 24, 2021) and four steals (vs. Florida, Jan. 16, 2022). At Alabama, Gordon was also the SEC Freshman of the Week after helping the Crimson Tide go 2-0 against LSU and Vanderbilt.
In high school, Gordon scored 2,405 career points for L.D. Bell High School, located in Fort Worth, Texas — second behind her older sister Alexis, who signed with UConn out of high school and ended her career at Duke in 2022. She graduated from L.D. Bell High School in 2020 with the program’s most points scored in a single game (53) and the most points scored in a single season (925, during her junior year).
Gordon was a four-star recruit and was ranked No. 100 overall in ESPNW’s Class of 2020 top 100 recruiting list, plus she was a McDonald’s All-American nominee out of high school, and a two-time TABC All-State and All-District MVP. During her sophomore year, she was invited to the USA Basketball U17 Trials. In the classroom, she was a four-time academic all-district award winner. Along with her older sister, Gordon comes from a basketball family, as her parents Myron and Kim both played basketball at TCU.
